I have been wondering why it is that when we worship God, we worship the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, but when we speak of God, most of the time people are either talking of the Father or the Son, why not the Holy Spirit? We give praise to the Father and we give praise to the Son, yet I never read, or hear, of anyone giving praise to the Holy Spirit. When we worship God, we worship the Trinity, but when we give thanks, I wonder how many give thanks to the Holy Spirit?

Thought this would make an interesting topic for discussion ...

In His Love,

Alan

I guess it is because Jesus told us to pray to the Father in Jesus name. We sing 'Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost------' in church after the reading of the Psalm. So I guess we do give glory to the Holy Spirit too.

For me when I say 'God' I am including Yeshua and the Spirit, I see Him as one whole being who fulfills many many roles as the Son, Father and Spirit. When I sing praises of worship I am worshipping the Creator, God in all His roles and not one over the other or one or the other. I give thanks to God through whom all things come. Its not a matter of 'I thank the Spirit, trinity' I am thanking the one who made it all possible, God the Creator and thank Him for all He did and does. I wonder does anyone pray to the Spirit of God or the trinity? instead of 'God'?

shalom,

Mizz

The Son's purpose

Jn 12:27-28

27 "Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save Me from this hour'? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name."

NKJV

The Holy Spirit's Purpose

Jn 16:13-15

13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

NKJV

The outcome of Eternities continuance

1 Co 15:24-28

24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For "He has put all things under His feet." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

NKJV

It is a different value system in the eternity... recognition is best when it is in The Loved of The Father- Into the Son- energized by The Holy Spirit within us all and brought into relationship with The Son as Wife...

Rv 11:15-17

15 Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!" 16 And the twenty-four elders who sat before God on their thrones fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:

"We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty,

The One who is and who was and who is to come,

Because You have taken Your great power and reigned.

NKJV

When I praise the Son Of The Father's Glory the Holy Spirit receives In The Father The Praise unto the Son...

1Jn 5:6-13 ...

The purpose of being is fulfilled in Christ and the Godhead's directives to Their Pleasure The Eternal Truth without bounds...

When ever praise is lifted to the Holy Spirit how is the Godhead's Pleasure fulfilled in what They have taught us of Their

Eternal purpose?

Love, Steven

I think the real question is what did the original languages of Hebrew and Greek mean when they use the word translated "god".

I think we have put our own definitions of the words translated "god" to their thoughts, and I don't think they are the same and in doing so we pervert scripture.

The church's I have been to have always given praise by saying "Thank You Father" or "Thank You Jesus", but I never hear people thanking the Holy Spirit, who plays such an important role in our daily lives. Over the years, I have witnessed this and have wondered why the Holy Spirit seems to work in the background so much. It could very well be the church's I have been to because I cannot speak for all churches.

I also believe that when we give thanks to God, we don't eliminate any of the Trinity, yet, again I say, I never hear anyone given thanks and praise solely to the Holy Spirit as I have to both the Father and Jesus. Just something I have observed over the years. :39:

Holy Spirit is God. As the third Person, He conveys any praise given to Him to the Father....Jesus does, also.

I can't speak for the rest of the world, but as for me:

Matt 12:30-33

31 "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. 32 "And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come.

NASB

I thank the Father for sending the Holy Spirit as Jesus told us he would do, but I try and experience the Holy Spirit and not talk about Him, for He is a very special entity and not something to make mistakes with or about.

Amen we need His Spirit to help us overcome! YHWH, Elohim, Adonai, or even satan its the authority and power in the name that matters. When we know about God and mock His Spirit or His authority thats when we truly blasphem His name I think.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
