I honestly want to know. People pick up these evil mindsets from fox news . And others. And the pastor sure can't make sure to go to everyones home in the church each night to make sure that his congregation isn't being influenced by the conservative media. So how do we as christians combat such an unchristian philspophy such as conservatism , especially when its gaining such a foothold in our churches?? People talk about the problem of porn and pre marital sex and such happening in our churches , as they should. But the conservative thing is way more serious. And its more seriouis because....yeah there may be a few guys in church addicted to porn.......... But a HUGE percentage of guys IN CHURCHES watch Fox News , CNN , or listen to some conservative radio nearly every single night!!! So yeah....this is a huge issue. And I just would like some opinions from real christians on how to handle this situation.

The liberal agenda isn't compatible with Scripture....it's that simple. How could one be pro-choice, pro-gay or pro-living way above your means and still live within the tenets set forth by God? It simply can't be done. That being said, I don't believe the 'conservatives' that fill our t.v. screens are the real deal (at least most of them); we should not look to the politicians to be our spiritual leaders, or to FNC or CNN, but to the Bible instead. While followers of Christ are bent towards conservatism, some who profess the faith seem to swallow republicans hook line and sinker. There are subjects we should have a voice on and subjects that just are not things we should concern ourselves with. I think we should be more concerned with matters of the Kingdom than matters of the state. L.J.

Guest
How about being more specific about the ways in which conservatism are not in harmony with Christianity. Maybe in that way, Christians can help fix conservatism.

The Church has been seduced by whose true gods are profit and power. The were successful in getting the Church by and large to buy into the belief that God is a conservative if not a registered Republican. How else but through a stronghold in religion could a very few get the majority of citizens to vote themselves into the poor house? God is neither conservative or liberal. God is the absolute truth, and God is love. Liberal and conservative are extreme opposites of a social spectrum (or pendulum which is the example I like to use sing the social order tends to swing from one side to the other to off set recent events). The balance between the two extremes is almost never achieved, and not for long when it is achieved as extremists are hellbent on moving the social order to their beloved extreme. Both extremes are fascist (meaning the benefit of an elite few at the expense of the many).
