I wondered about this for weeks and weeks... i still smoke cigarettes, i quit weed instantly but i cant seem to kick the cigarette habit. I feel like God doesnt want me to smoke and i condem myself all the time . I also know theres no condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ.  I get confused about this all the time. I figure when the Holy Spirit tells me its time then that's when I quit. That's how it happened for my other bad habit

I wonder how many Christians still smoke?? I do and I know I shouldn't and I have tried to stop. My main problem is that I enjoy a cigarette with a cup of coffee, after a meal, when i sit down to rest, and in between. For me a cigarette is a stimulant when I am tired or can't think straight; and a seditave when I am upset. I feel like I have leprosy when I light up anywhere but my house.. i respect others who don't smoke and if they visit me... I will smoke outside. Do you smoke????

No I don't smoke.  And I"m sure there are a lot of Christians that do.  However I worked in the medical field all my life and saw the results of this habit from having to live on oxygen to dying from lung cancer.  Our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit we need to watch what we put in that temple and what kind of a testimony you are putting out there.  You sound as if your replacing a cigarette for what the Lord could do for you if you trust Him and let Him do His work in your life.  Ask yourself a question.  Would you invite Jesus to join you for a cup of coffee with a cigarette in your hand our would you rather just sit with your Savior and tell Him how much you love Him and thank Him for all He has done for you?

I feel sure anyone would not want to smoke in front of Jesus and most likely would not if given a chance.  when they see him they will have already left the physical body which holds the addiction.

and second Jesus knows who smokes on earth and where their heart is; if he were to present himself to a smoker he would not be surprised about it.

What about people who are gluttons? That is just as much as a sin.Do you like to eat? What about gambling? What about those who break all of those "insignificant" laws such as going over the speed limit, going through a red light? You can not point your finger at just one sin.We are all sinners.

I would suggest that you go down to your local hospital and set with people dieing from Lung Cancer....     See if the hospital will let you volunteer to help that person as much as you can off and on until they expire.....    when you have seen that once or twice, I think you will have little to no trouble quitting....     Experiencing a tumor rupturing and filling someone's lungs with blood and them coughing and spitting it all over everywhere, just is not a thing to experience anywhere else.

I can't tell you that smoking is a sin......    but I can tell you that you don't want to die that way.

I  see your point but I have also seen those who weigh 500 lbs.Overweight is a problem too oo.It is gluttony and it is a sin.Just watch a huge van load up that person to take them to a special MRI machine because they are too heavy to get in one at the hospital. They have to go to a special Veterinarian clinic that handles large animals. That is also very embarrassing for the patient.

Then go look at some of the patients that have ruined their liver from drinking too much. You will find that person because they are orange in color.

Smoking is an addiction. It may be as addicting as heroin. Then you have those addicted to hard drugs. But the biggest problem right now is those in upper middle class who are addicted to prescription drugs. It might be interesting to go to a rehab center and watch what they have to go through to get off of that stuff.

Actually smoking and heroin is very similiar......      both are much harder to kick than alcohol or other addictive things...   even pot is much easier than tobacco.

While it may be a sin, I would not put over eating on the level of durggs.    I've stopped smoking and I've lost about 70 pounds and kept it off so I have had a bit of experience in those two areas.    I have acquaintances that have been heroin addicts and they tell  me that that is about the same as tobacco.  I have no experience with the hard drugs like Percocet except from surgeries, but the three times I had to take it to stand the pain, it made me see things that were really frightening.....    not a recreational drug for me....   I don't need to experience Halloween every day.

Gluttony is a sin.A very heavy person can be classified as disabled.Yes,it is about as difficult to stop smoking as it is to stop a heroin habit.Smoking is not a habit. You still do take Tramadol on a regular basis and I have read of the horrible addictions to that.It is an opiate. One should not point their finger at another until they take a look at them self.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
