I have been a Christian for 30 years, but due to all the conflicts in the churches I've stayed away from them. But as far as I have always known, all Christians believe the Bible is true and that it's the word of God. Admittedly, the different denominations interpret different scriptures differently, but they still believe it's the word of God. I am not trying to start a discussion on how we interpret various scriptures, so please don't start doing that.

What I am asking, is there a new movement of people who call themselves Christians who never read the Bible at all, and they think the Bible is totally man made and it was done to control the people? I recently met a young woman who told me this. Is she just 1 in a million or is this a new movement within Christianity? I sure hope it isn't.

I think that you have to accept the general premise that the Bible contains godly truths. I find it ironic that someone could denounce the Bible but believe in Christ, since... it's the Bible that makes the case for Jesus being divine! :)

All Scripture is God-breathed. It's source is God Himself. God's Holy Spirit illuminated the minds of those whom He had write the Scriptures. The Scriptures are the words of God as given to men by the Holy Spirit under divine inspiration.

The WORD of God is Jesus. He was with God in the beginning and proceeded forth from the Father. He is of the same substance and essence as the Father.

I have my issues with the modern Church Visible myself.

That said, any group who totally ignores the Scriptures and claims to be Christian is a land of unwalled villages. Anything can get in, and chances are, anything WILL get in. Avoid them.

This is my feeling exactly. How someone can claim to believe in Jesus, or to accept Him, and then reject the Bible as being divine, I don't understand. It's like a conflict in thinking, or a conflict of logic. But since I'm no longer part of any churches for just these reasons, I wonder if this is a new movement. I probably should have waited for more answers, before I responded, but I liked what you said.

Historically most Christians have accepted the Bible as being God's word, but that's changing. Right on this site you can find Christians who cherry-pick what they like and discard the rest, with the result being they're fine with infanticide, gay rights, wealth distribution, and so forth. The fact the Word condemns these things means nothing to them. How they can square that with calling themselves followers of Christ I don't know, but they do.

And as I said, this group is growing, quickly. The day is coming--and probably is closer than we think--when they'll outnumber us. What'll happen then is anyone's guess.

There has been a documented slide into treating the Bible like an irksome and antiquated old maiden aunt who is just no fun

at all and a very pronounced emphasis on errant prophecy, weird and non-biblical manifestations, pseudo healings and

words of knowledge, extra-biblical words from God that would be akin to a new Bible if kept leather bound in a handy

edition and bizarre teaching that sounds exactly like what the Bible calls the doctrine of devils

But otherwise, no, it all seems fine

Amen~! Of Course

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:4

Believers

Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart. Psalms 119:111

Do

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalms 119:11

But Then Again.....

I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Timothy 4:1-4

When I believed in Jesus, I knew immediately that all of the bible is true. Some folks Ive encountered over the years believe in Jesus but dont think the bible is all true, or that it was altered or that it is the words of man. Many of them have struggles with faith.

To me, that seems to fit a parable of the sower, in that they are not rooted in the word. It could be just a part of their personal growth. I was fortunate in that the Holy Spirit showed me the truth immediately, that the bible is the word of God and true.

I am seeing more folks lately who claim to be Christian but then also claim that the bible is just the words of men and changeable. Im guessing you could find many in any church who do not read the bible regularly either. Just another way the enemy seeks to weaken faith.

No. No the movement of people who call themselves Christians who never read the Bible at all is sadly very old.

If they read it like God intended, they would know that we are to be one not many that God makes the rules not man and certainly not all of us. And they would learn that we are all called to be priests before God and subordinate to Jesus Christ not a pastor or board or elders or a denomination or conference. These are the trappings of man. Granted, novices must learn more about the Bible (and therefore about God) before going off into the world exercising their spiritual gifts in ministry... but to sit in a pew and be spoon fed the pastor's opinion or the denomination's opinion etc. is NOT what God intended the Body of Christ to be (a spiritual country club to belong to). Churches were intended to be spiritual schools and spiritual hospitals all with healing or educating in mind and then sending the educated and the healed out into the world to spread the Gospel.

So Ayin Jade, why

Why are you following me around worthy lately and criticizing me? Please stop this.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
