2 John (NAS)

10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive [lambano] him into your house, and do not give [Lego] him a greeting [Chairo]; 11 for the one who gives him a greeting [Chairo] participates in his evil deeds.

2 John (KJV)

10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive [lambano] him not into your house, neither bid [Lego] him God speed [Chairo]: 11 For he that biddeth [Lego] him God speed [Chairo] is partaker of his evil deeds.

I was wondering

I invited Mormons in to my place one day and had a three hour discussion about God and his Word. One person must have been new, because she was taking in what I was showing in the Bible and actually asking questions about the Mormon religion that the other person was not liking. Invite someone in to witness to them I would believe is perfectly fine, but letting someone in your house that is going to harm is not smart. I maybe off base here, but it maybe referring to allowing someone in your house that is going to bring in harm in some sort of way. I have no problem witnessing to someone in my house, but if they attempt some sort of nonsense with their beliefs or begin to belittle my beliefs, it time for them to leave.

And using a Taser is an option.

Do you have a Christian taser?

I just think that many times we willingly allow fellowships and connections in our lives, that expose our families to something that we should not. The lady on the other thread that has the Wiccan friend, if her children see her fellowship with this woman, outside of witnessing, and even then............what have her actions just told her children, or searching teens, about friendships? We have to really be strong and assertive in terms of our alignments with others and their false beliefs, lest we bring our children into great confusion, and possibly engage ourselves in situations that could affect our own walks. That is how the Israelites got off track every time, they began to "intermingle" with people of other faiths, and become intertwined just through consistant association. I think the key word might be "consistant" though?

Oh, sure, make it revelant to now!

This is exactly the kind of sound advice that our generation needs to hear.

Having done almost everything wrong at least once, my opinion should be taken with that disclaimer in mind (I might just use a disclaimer from now on, hmmm, nah)

I have invited mormons and JW's in, but they often beat a hasty retreat, promising to return but never returning. I look at them as I would someone that believes that smoking pot is not a sin because it is a herb that the Lord gave men. If they step willingly into my home, they are on my turf, and they are going to hear what I have to say.

I think providing them with lodging, food, or any assistance is similiar to providing aid and comfort to the enemy, not a good idea.

IreneM has a good point about the time we spend listening to a false teacher period, even if we don't send them money, lets redeem the time, because the days are evil.

(Eph 5:15 KJV) See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

(Eph 5:16 KJV) Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

(Eph 5:17 KJV) Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Dear Wayne,

I too believe that this is an interesting thing to contemplate. To be honest the thread by the woman who's friend was into the occult, is what brought this to mind. As for me personally, that person would not be allowed to come into any contact with me in my home, nor would my children be exposed to her, as I believe it would open my home up to spiritual invasion.

In His Love,

Suzanne

:wub: Excellent point...and neither would I. BUT I leave the door open for those called into a Deliverence Ministry who are well suited and prepared for the ensuing battle. It is not my calling and I have not been prepared for it.

It is important to note that when these letters were written, the church in it's infancy included many ex-pagans and the likes. Some did not make the transition so well and actually mixed their new found freedom in Christ with their old pagan ways, which included temple protitutes and sacrifice to false idols. Hence the warning to not asscoaite with any of those things that could lead them to compromise the TRUTH and to certain destruction.

We have to wary today as well. I, as you Suzanne, would not invite a "witch" into my home but neither would I just take anyone to the Jail to assist me in ministry.

Be Blessed,

Wayne

Oh, I'll talk to them, but they're not getting past my door!

Oh, if you just want them to go away, tell them you'd like to lay hands on them and pray for them.

My cousin (not a Christian) just goes to the door in his underwear!

Leonard my brother, you are an unique individual. I may consider the underwear approach!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
