Industry group: bacon, pork shortage ‘unavoidable’

Beef low? Not where I am from. What use to be $7 is now $12. The price of everything is up. especially meat. Sliced turkey is $7.99 a pound and $8.99 for honey ham.

one light, no kidding. it's a rare day when i can find even the crappiest grade of ground beef for less than three bucks a pound.

sometimes i think i'll end up having to survive on chicken leg quarters.

My dad says cracklings lower the cholesterol ... after all, he got a large tub from warman saskatchewan and he went for his first followup appointment after his new cholesterol med's and his cholesterol is "PERFECT". must be them cracklins. lol

This is the guy who's decided he's gonna be catholic cause them guys are the only ones who have purgatory and he wants to drink beer, smoke cigarettes & play cards with my cousin Hank in purgatory... Wonder if theres pork in purgatory? Suppose if there is that would be my dads version of heaven & therefore purgatory does not exist.

I think that has more to do with printing money than the lack or abundance of beef? but if you think it's high now, wait till next spring.

i didn't know they fed animals from grain crops. i thought most were fed with chemicals. maybe they should go back to feeding pigs slop from the tables.

i'll pay whatever i have to i suppose, because i LOVE my pork! chops, bacon, sausage, whatever, just don't take my pork away from me.

I have a friend who used to own a resturant and they fed all their table scraps to hogs, but severall years ago that was made illegal so instead of selling scraps to a hog farmer, he had to pay for it to be "properly" disposed of.

The green world is crazy.

A lot of grain is fed to animals. Especially corn.

LOL, yeah, i really did know that they feed a lot of grains (particularly corn) to animals. i was being facetious. you know, all those hormones and steroids they pump into animals to make them grow so much faster than home-grown animals!

This passage refers to the future Day of Yahweh. One reason that this fiery judgment will come upon the recipients is because they eat SWINE'S FLESH (bacon, pork chops, sausage, etc.). If it is now OK for Christians to eat swine's flesh because it has been cleansed through Jesus, why will Yahweh destroy end-time people who eat it?

Joco, I am glad you asked. Please allow me to offer you an answer.

When teaching the Israelites about clean and unclean he used animals and one of those animals was the swine. They were those who divided the hoof but did not chew the cud, which was to teach that they separated themselves unto God but did not meditate sufficiently upon his word to gain understanding and ended up in error and going back to wallow in the mud after having been washed.

Jesus said that unless we eat his flesh and drink his blood we have no part in him. Many today are eating swines flesh having heaped up teachers having itching ears rather than a serious desire to consume the word of God and digest it. So remember, cast not your pearls before swine lest they turn around and rend you. Having learned your lesson about the need for separation that includes meditation upon the word of God for understanding, you may now take from the sheet from heaven and eat. Call not that unclean which God has called clean. Don't eat the swines flesh but leave my bacon alone.

Looks like I'll be stocking up on Spam; I learned to love it in the Army, and that stuff keeps forever!

My dad served in the Pacific during WWII and had a legendary hatred for Spam. He wouldn't allow the stuff in the house -- period. Spam = Bacon in a can.
