Hi hippo,

1Jo 4:3  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Hope this can help.

1 John 2:18-23

18 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us. 20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also

NASB

1 John 4:2-3

3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

NASB

1 John 2:21-22

22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.

NASB

Somewhere over the years some have transposed the antichrist name from the things that do not accept Christ coming in the flesh to the beast/s in revelations that rule the earth for a short time. I don't think the Bible really speaks of a single person being "the antichrist". Howeve there is a beast and it is the image of the beast that will do most of the things that are attributed to the "antichrist" in general. Most talked about thing that I hear/read about is the Mark.

This is just an opinion and is subject to further study should it be way out in left field. :24:

I wouldn't expend too much effort on this. Simply look in Strong's Concordance under "antichrist" and you'll find the word is only used 2 or 3 three times, indicating to me it is a subject which should not occupy too much of our time and interest when we compare it to the number of references about "Jesus" Christ!

I wasn't going to spend any time on it, but rather refuting it as nonsense, I thought I would at least ask.

I Could care less about anti anything.

I was just wondering if it was another one of those things that is claimed to be a spirit when it isn't....

I don't get all this spririt stuff.

I don't think the Bible really speaks of a single person being "the antichrist".

It does appear to point to a single person in the following verse:

1 John 2:18

Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.

Notice that John seems to point to an individual here "that antichrist is coming"

However he also points out that there are many who are anti Christ, which as has already been brought up is all who deny that Jesus came in the flesh and was crusified and was buried and was resurected and is at the right hand of the Father in glory. This is the spirit of the anti Christ

In Jesus

hippo's hope is HIM,

The word "Anti-Christ" simply means "against or opposed to christ".

The word Anti-Christ is only used 4 times in the bible. And only one time referring to the "Anti-Christ" or the Man of sin that will come in the last days, but the Spirit of the Anti-Christ has always been here opposing Chirst and those who follow him.

Basicly any person or organization or religion who is agaisnt or denies the Lordship and Diety Christ or opposed to Christianity is a of the Spirit of the Anti-Christ.

1Jo 2:22 Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.

1Jo 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world.

2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.

1Jo 2:18 Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour.

God bless,

Hi Hippo,

As Jedi pointed out the prefix anti- can mean against, but it can also mean instead of or substitute.

1) over against, opposite to, before

2) for, instead of, in place of (something)

    2a) instead of

    2b) for

    2c) for that, because

    2d) wherefore, for this cause

As the antichrist is most definitely "against" christ the warning can also imply that we are to be on guard for false christs as Paul warned often.

When someone is opposed to something it is usually readily apparent. On the other hand when someone it trying to infiltrate they are trying to conceal as we are told that the ministers of Satan appear as angels of light or wolves in sheeps clothing.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
