The vast majority here at WB are opposed to gay marriage, and of those who support it, many are not living in America. We just voted last year in North Carolina to ban gay marriage. I voted with the majority. As has been said, we are all being held hostage by 9 judges, and not all of them will support homosexual marriage. I feel pretty confident we can count on Scalia, Thomas and Alito, so at most you would have 6 unelected judges deciding the direction of the whole nation, as they did with the abortion issue. In that case, it was 7 unelected judges overturning all the state legislatures with restrictions on killing babies.

Regardless, I still have to agree with you that the nation is on dangerous ground. In Israel, you would have one king that would make unrighteous decrees, and everyone had to pay for it. If the court rules against DOMA, or even worse, if they say the states aren't free to decide on the marriage issue, over time, people will get used to sodomites getting married, and will accept it. Then look out.
