John 16:33 (NASB95)

33 “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”

2 Timothy 4:5 (NASB95)

5 But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

These are nor from the Lord but most often are aimed at the Lord through us (from the world, the worldly, and the devil).

John 16:27 (NASB95)

27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father.

John 3:16-18 (NASB95)

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

18 “He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

God's wrath is not for the believer but the unbeliever and fallen angels.

Anger, wrath, and chastening:

I have to admit that while I am being chastened by God, I definitely feel like He has directed His wrath toward me. But that is not the case. I feel estranged from Him, without the fruit of His Spirit, and definitely wondering, like Job, what I had done. And when all is done, while I usually obey eagerly and out of love, there are occasions when I obey out of the fear of the Lord, which, after all, is the beginning of wisdom. I don't want to be outside of His favor again. I want to remain in the center of His will.

No, I don't believe that Christians who seek God's face and continue in His grace will ever experience His wrath, which is directed at His enemies.

Psm 17:8 NKJV: Keep me as the apple of Your eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings.

NASV translates this as the pupil of Your eye, which is much more meaningful to me. I can imaginine someone poking God in the eye. He has reserved His wrath for those who poke Him in the eye, and for those who persecute His kids. He is a righteous, just God.

God tells us to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

Training involves teaching, rewarding good behavior, and firm correcting. But I do not believe it should involve anger on our part but should always be for the good of our child whom we love. Heb 12:6. v. 10 says God's correction is for our profit , that we may be partakers of His holiness. That should be the aim of our correction of our kids, as well.

But He instructs fathers to not PROVOKE your children to WRATH, but to biring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. Eph 6:4. I believe this is referring to punishment that does not fit the crime. Perhaps it is abusive, harsh and unjust, more to vent the father's anger than to correct the child. This not God's nature. He is just, fair, forgiving, righteous, good and merciful. Gal. 6:20, Eph. 4:26 God's anger is without sin. A broken and a contrite heart He will not dispise. Psm 51:17

In Matt 25:24-25 the unrighteous servent claimed he saw God as hard so he was afraid. This should not be the attitude of kids toward their parents. Our Heavenly Daddy is not hard or abusive, and we should not be terrified of Him either.

God directs anger toward those who have done evil in His sight, who are ungrateful and complaining, but most of all for those who are without faith after He has demonstrated Himself over and over to be faithful. Heb. 3:8-11, 19. The sin was unbelief.

Read carefully.

1 Corinthians 10

1 Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea,

2 all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea,

3 all ate the same spiritual food,

4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.

6 Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.

7 And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”

8 Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell;

9 nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents;

10 nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

11 Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

Are they a Christian if they turn their back on God? That, may be the real question.

As a Christian...and I know you are Bopeep....do we experience God's wrath? Does He punish us in wrath or in love? See, some believe we receive wrath from God

Yet, the NT tells us that God chastens EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US WHO ARE TRULY HIS!!! I think that puts us in good company? Right? Think of all the believers in scripture...

we are included with them

I posted this some ways back:

More from Hebrews 12

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8If you are not disciplinedand everyone undergoes disciplinethen you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. 9Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

12Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13“Make level paths for your feet,”b so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

I agree that punishment meted out in anger at disobedience is not out of love so much as the person venting their anger.

Fathers can provoke their children to wrath...it has happened before and it will happen again.

Funny how scripture actually seems to imply that if a person is not receiving correction from God, they just might not belong to Him. I think that kind of helps to understand why

so many unrighteous people seem to do so well. (see my quote above to know where I got that impression from Hebrews 12)

Some more really great scriptures from John to consider and man also posted some just above...I mean, that is what we want to look at to make our minds up, right?

2 Timothy 4:5 (NASB95)

John 3:16-18 (NASB95)

16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

17 “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

I am not planning on experiencing God's Wrath because I will be in Heaven. The way things are going I do not think it will be that long.I am not planning on getting my head cut off for not having the Mark.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
