Just ask an insurance co. to insure the property and you will soon find out just how much trust there is in the membership and the leaders. Police checks are a requirement and they are not for life nor are they totally accurate - a person may commit a crime against a child or adult within the time period between checks or it may be in another country - they are not foolproof.

I think you need to approach a church with much discernment.Just because it is a church does not mean it is from God.You also need to be cautious when you approach those who attend a church.Just because they go to church does not make them a christian. And some may claim they are a christian but their words and actions do not reflect that they are.

I have been thrown out of Churches for telling the truth.

My present Church is enduring me, but a husband and wife from a prominent family are boycotting the worship service because I go to their church with my wife. (I am the one they don't like).

This is the one who I thought looked remarkably like Jeri Ryan. Once she and her husband learned that was all my gawking was, they wanted to be buddy buddy... but I just wanted to go back to being neighbors.

I am not sure what I did to offend her again... but it was something... and I responded "fine! at least when you are this way you are being consistent!"

I have had too many instabilities for one life time I don't want it in people I am acquainted with.

Pray for me on this if you think of it. Living in smallville with the Kennsington-Smythe family sore at you (a new comer by their standards) it ain't easy.

I don't know why I wrote this here. The Church here is at least standing firm not to banish guests because Lilly Lou Kensington-Smythe has taken exception with them... a bold move in a small town btw.

The pastor just thinks the whole thing is foolish and sad. Pray for him because I am sure with sore prominent families comes dried up finances.

Trouble just seems to follow anymore.

Can't figure out of it's me doing something wrong...

or doing something right in an increasingly debase world.

I am so familiar with that situation. It happened to me when I was stationed in central Louisiana and some rich but dumb redneck family took exception to a mere enlisted member of the Air Force going to "thier" church. Its a long story that got pretty ugly in the end and was probably a really bad testimony to anyone who wasn't a believer. Keep doing the right thing and let 'em be mad . . . angry rednecks can sometimes be entertaining.

Can You Trust Everyone In Christian Churches? Are Christian Churches Always Safe Places?

A Short Question Taken From A List Found On About.com Christianity..

This Is Intended For Both The Believer And The Seeker Alike. Believer's Bible Input Is Welcome.

Any Sincere Expression And Question From Seekers Should Be (Prayerfully) Salted With Truth And With Love.

The simple answer is No.  The very first church was shepherded by the Lord himself and within the congregation was a man named Judas who betrayed the Lord.  Judas was a thief as well.  Before being betrayed the Lord warned us several times about deception and those who would come as wolves in sheep's clothing.  Every single writer of the New Testament gave some sort of warning pertaining to the dangers of trusting those within the walls of the church with some of them even giving names of the examples they were writing about.  We are to place our trust in God through Christ and simply live as he did, loving even the enemies within.

But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? …Acts 5:3

I agree with the other posters...seems there is agreement and the biblical narrative would back it up too I think.

For some reason, I thought of the story of Ananias and his wife, Sapphira; I find Peter's question thought provoking.  He asks, "why has Satan filled your heart to lie...."

This indicates to me that we need to search our own hearts because if Satan can provoke us to lie (remember Peter himself denying Christ 3x)  then that is the source of all

our problems right there.  If Ananias believed he could lie and get away with it, then he was deceived.  So, with reference to like passages in scripture (there are many

examples) we have to guard our own hearts as much as protect the truth that lives in them.  If someone has fallen, we are told to more or less, try to pick them up and restore

them.

I think many have probably started out on the way and have, for different reasons, left it and gone down the wrong path.  I think sometimes we have to allow ourselves some

vulnerability and understand that we extend it in the name of Christ. However, yes, we must have discernment for scripture also states to be as wise as serpents and as

harmless as doves.  I know that sometimes I have been as wise as a serpent but also bit like one too.  So, we need to humble ourselves before God by submitting one to

another...that doesn't mean we accept lies or wrong doctrine...but that we give an answer that shows the love of God, and not just the rod of God.

Put on the armor....God will teach you how to use the sword and when to put up the shield   ^_^

Can You Trust Everyone In Christian Churches?

Yes you can!!!  But I personally believe that would be a mistake that proves to be costly.

Are Christian Churches always safe places?

There is much evidence both inside scripture to suggest that church is a dangerous place to be but the evidence that can be found in the news articles floating around confirm that church can be dangerous even fatal at times.  Let us also not forget the past where we had various uprisings of warring factions within the Christian Church wholesale slaughtering one another in the name of Christ.  Yep.  Church can be a dangerous place to be and the danger can be the parishioners or the pastor lest we forget Jim Jones.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
