The best way to learn humility is to be knocked down for pride.

Post something on Worthy that goes against the grain.

You will be told in multiple ways how wrong you are, that you lack knowledge, your a liar and your very salvation will be questioned.

If that does not humble you what would? :)

That shouldn't humble you, JD, since those individuals are not exhibiting Christian values..  It should make you report the culprit.  We've pretty much all had those experiences but I've learned, the hard way, to let the mods handle it.  You don't have to be the object of abuse.

So I have been told.

That is just verbal abuse.

A few years ago I live in Kansas, and remember once at a church I was attending, a young lady asking for God to teach her patience and humility, the rest of us were impreseds (while I also was dumbfounded) because those are two things I don't think I will ever have the guts to ask God for.

So I would say if one thinks to high of themselves ask God for humility.

Trials such as sickness, unexpected loses and/or loss of loved ones and friends, forgiving those and facing those who have hurt you, receiving divine discipline    are all ways I believe God has used to bring about humility in my life.

I am so in agreement with Duggarfan...

What is the best way to learn humility? Ask of God for it...and then wait...

and along with that many many other things will be learned as well...Hahaha...Except it's not funny when going through it...

the best way far that is to get out of your comfort zone and push your endeavors to the limit and past what you are capable of  doing.  a few good tries with failures will do the trick.  you can know you can do your best and are living up to your potential and life goes on if it doesn't work out.

I don't think one can be truly humble without a few failures.  The really good ones are the ones where God has to make it all work out and you know down deep that you didn't do it.
