Jerry, we have pastors and prophets who do these things in our country, too. But they are either false pastors and prophets or else they have been corrupted by the love of money. God has much to say about true and false shepherds in places like Ezekiel 34. God is our true pastor and true Shepherd. I totally agree with the others who have posted about this. We will pray that God send true and faithful pastors to teach you the Word of God more correctly. True pastors love their people and are their servents.

Our pastor worked another job in construction until we had over 300 people regularly attending the church before he started "eating from the alter". He has always depended on God alone to supply his needs. He never tells others when he is in need of money. He just prays for God to supply his need and money comes in the mail. He did not ask for money when we built our church either. He also pays tithes to God.

We are told in Malachi 3:8-12 to test God and see that if we give 10% of our earnings to Him, He will rebuke the devourer and protect what we do have so that things don't wear out so fast, and He helps us find things at a cheaper price. He blesses us for giving. He also tells us to give to the poor. But I would never give to a church that asks for money or robs the poor as your friend's church does. I would give to a church that helps and feeds the poor in their church by giving them jobs. But this would also be my advice to someone who is failing at business. First He should ask God, not a prophet or a pastor, for wisdom in what business he should invest in, and then he should give of his profits to God and not to a false pastor. Often God will tell us to give to the poor Christians if there is no good church.

Seed faith is giving in order to get rich. That is a bad thing. In Hebrews 13:5 we are told to let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; and James 4:3 You ask and do not receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. v. 7 says submit therefore to God; resist the devil and he will flee from you. Tell this to your friend, as well.

I have never heard of a spirit of rising and falling in business. But I do know of deceiving spirits and lying spirits, and that satan is the father of lies. There are many Bibles on line that you can read if you don't have one, and there are also translations in many languages.. Do read the New Testament again and again, and then read the old testament. The reason we are united in suspecting the pastor of being evil it because we have read the New Testament so often.

Here on this forum we pray for people for free. We have a section that is called prayer requests. We are very willing to pray. But you and your friend can go straight to God and pray to Him. You have no need to ask others to pray for you, but it is sometimes nice to have other Christians pray as well.

Your pastors in your country are not depending on God to provide for them if they ask for seed faith or money to just do what God expects of them. I would never trust a pastor like your friend's. Your prophets sound like fortune tellers in the occult. These people would have been put to death in the old testament. These things were practiced by the people that God had told the Jews to kill in the promised land and they were told to never do those things.. The gift of prophecy in the New Testament was for the purpose of building up the whole body of Christ to strengthen their faith and encourage them. (1 Corinthians 14)

God, please bless Jerry and his friend and lead them to true pastors who will guide them, pray for them, and be a servent to them for free. Please send someone to teach and preach Your Word more correctly. Give Jerry's friend Your wisdom concerning business decisions; and make both of them blessings to others, that Your love might be seen in them and all will know that they walk with You, according to the leading of Your Holy Spirit. Please fill them with Your Spirit now, in Jesus Name, Amen

The gospel of Jesus Christ is free and so is deliverance.  Isaiah deals with those who fast for the wrong reasons in chapter 58...

I tend to agree with you on the above because that is what I immediately thought of when I read your first post.  There are such things as familiar spirits working through some and God's gifts

are free.  You cannot pay for salvation...and since it is God who sets us free, we don't have to pay someone to do it.

Shout it aloud, do not hold back.

Raise your voice like a trumpet.

Declare to my people their rebellion

and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.

2For day after day they seek me out;

they seem eager to know my ways,

as if they were a nation that does what is right

and has not forsaken the commands of its God.

They ask me for just decisions

and seem eager for God to come near them.

3‘Why have we fasted,’ they say,

‘and you have not seen it?

Why have we humbled ourselves,

and you have not noticed?’

“Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please

and exploit all your workers.

4Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife,

and in striking each other with wicked fists.

You cannot fast as you do today

and expect your voice to be heard on high.

5Is this the kind of fast I have chosen,

only a day for people to humble themselves?

Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed

and for lying in sackcloth and ashes?

Is that what you call a fast,

a day acceptable to the Lord?

6“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:

to loose the chains of injustice

and untie the cords of the yoke,

to set the oppressed free

and break every yoke?

7Is it not to share your food with the hungry

and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—

when you see the naked, to clothe them,

and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8Then your light will break forth like the dawn,

and your healing will quickly appear;

then your righteousnessa will go before you,

and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

9Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;

you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

This is the way fortune tellers work, not men of God.

It there any guarantee the pastor is telling the truth about your friend's circumstances?

Another Biblical story to refer to is found in 2 Kings 5. Naaman wanted to pay Elisha for his healing, but Elisha refused. Elisha's servant, however, lied to Naaman as a means to receive money and clothes from him. The servant was punished for doing this.

Jerry you are thanking people for their replies, and all of them are telling you the same thing. Have nothing to do with a pastor who demands money from you. The question now is, what are you going to do next? The advice is very good! How are you going to apply it?

I work in Africa and am very familiar with what is happening here, and it can only happen if people pay the pastors when they demand money. Stop paying for prayers and you will soon see in which pastor the true Spirit of God resides.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
