PK was an attempt at bringing the denominations together at the expense of doctrine. By bringing Mormons and others that are not "born again" into acceptance as brothers they have blurred the truth of the Gospel to the point that now Mormons are accepted as a "true" branch of christianity. Beloved Brethern,

Next time we see someone leaving a rally or Christian gathering in tears, irrelevant of who that service is being led by, LET'S GET UP AND GIVE THEM A GREAT BIG HUG!

Hi ray,

The connection is in my previous statement. PK was one of the first groups to "accept" mormons as brothers because they "name the name of Jesus." The link is just one of the most recent happenings that is bringing mormons into acceptability with the church. The ecumenical movement is "Let's just get together and forget about doctrine." Those that don't hold to sound doctrine don't care about letting go of what doctrine they hold to. One of the things that we are warned about in scripture is:

2Ti 4:3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

promise keepers split my old church

4 men went to a weekend meeting and when they got back started pushing all men to join it got so bad some elders went to the pasotor and ask him to intervene which he did !!! This so offended the men who went that they then demanded to be allowed to push promise keepers and all who refused to join were out of the will of God..........

Well by the time it was all over those who wanted promise keepers went away and started a new church and it litterly spit the chuch in 2..............

When the Apostles spoke durring Penticost, 3000 were saved that day, so the numbers of people in Jerusalem during this time of the feast was massive!

So I'm sure that you can have many being evangelized when the true and only word of God is preached, especially with true signs and wonders! Since there was perhaps a million people who would come to Jerusalem during the time of the Passover, and more different languages being spoken that the amount of apostle speaking the good news, this would have made it the most perfect opportunity to send the Gospel home to many foreign nations!

I have researched the promise Keepers, it may be a good way for some to bond, and confess their problems, it's a type of fellowship with the touchy feely psychological satisfying, experiences in it!

But they realize to include every denomination, even some that believe in Jesus, but have a different Jesus, and other beliefs: they must keep the doctrine very simple, not to offend even the Mormons, Jahovah's witnesses, and new ager's.

So compared to the penticostal revival; it's a counterfeit, and very little meat of the word is preached, the Mormons still leave Mormons, and feel good about it !

The group is also control by sending to home churches group leaders, forming more smaller groups, making unbiblical vow's or promises, they use to have control over the group!

I know that people will argue that point, but the Promise keepers have a heirachy of controls that lead to the very top, which some say is the Promisekeepers leader (but I beleive it goes much higher than that), to each member keeping each other accountable!

This is much closer to the secret groups like the Masons, Jesuits, Shriners, and the Knights of Columbus, but keeping it more open, and more like a social gathering!

Make no mistake there is a form of control here, and it is to bring about tolerance of religious beleifs, to bring forth a watered down religion that offends no one, and we all can come together!

When it comes to the true truth and the narrow way, Jesus has little tolerance, and would rather offend the majority and send them away, to keep pure and the true followers!

John. 6:47-71;

47I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, he who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, relies on, and has faith in Me] has (now possesses) eternal life.

48I am the Bread of Life [that gives life--the Living Bread].

49Your forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and [yet] they died.

50[but] this is the Bread that comes down from heaven, so that [any]one may eat of it and never die.

51I [Myself] am this Living Bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever; and also the Bread that I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh (body).

52Then the Jews angrily contended with one another, saying, How is He able to give us His flesh to eat?

53And Jesus said to them, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, you cannot have any life in you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood [unless you appropriate His life and the saving merit of His blood].

54He who feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood has (possesses now) eternal life, and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day.

55For My flesh is true and genuine food, and My blood is true and genuine drink.

56He who feeds on My flesh and drinks My blood dwells continually in Me, and I [in like manner dwell continually] in him.

57Just as the living Father sent Me and I live by (through, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] shall [in his turn] live through and because of Me.

58This is the Bread that came down from heaven. It is not like the manna which our forefathers ate, and yet died; he who takes this Bread for his food shall live forever.

59He said these things in a synagogue while He was teaching at Capernaum.

60When His disciples heard this, many of them said, This is a hard and difficult and strange saying (an offensive and unbearable message). Who can stand to hear it? [Who can be expected to listen to such teaching?]

61But Jesus, knowing within Himself that His disciples were complaining and protesting and grumbling about it, said to them: Is this a stumbling block and an offense to you? [Does this upset and displease and shock and scandalize you?]

62What then [will be your reaction] if you should see the Son of Man ascending to [the place] where He was before?

63It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the Life-giver]; the flesh conveys no benefit whatever [there is no profit in it]. The words (truths) that I have been speaking to you are spirit and life.

64But [still] some of you fail to believe and trust and have faith. For Jesus knew from the first who did not believe and had no faith and who would betray Him and be false to Him.

65And He said, This is why I told you that no one can come to Me unless it is granted him [unless he is enabled to do so] by the Father.

66(AFTER THIS), (MANY OF HIS DISCIPLES) (DREW BACK) (returned to their old associations) and (NO LONGER) accompanied Him.

67Jesus said to the Twelve, Will you also go away? [And do you too desire to leave Me?]

68Simon Peter answered, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words (the message) of eternal life.

69And we have learned to believe and trust, and [more] we have come to know [surely] that You are the Holy One of God, the Christ (the Anointed One), the Son of the living God.

70Jesus answered them, Did I not choose you, the Twelve? And [yet] one of you is a devil (of the evil one and a false accuser).

71He was speaking of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for he was about to betray Him, [although] he was one of the Twelve.

Jesus knew what was in their hearts, and purposely missled many of them, who thought they would have to drink blood, and eat flesh, to be His disciple, (this is illegal by the law of the time)! Christ was speaking in a parable and knew that many really didn't believe, but were there because of the miracles, but the faithful few would remain, even if they didn't understand the parable at first!

So Christ will devide to keep the flock pure, and there are many scriptures pointing to this fact, I may go into it later when I have time!

These attempts at revivals in the last days have very little true repentace and strong words of teaching and warning!

CORRECTION

Source: From the Promise Keepers Website.

Does PK use Mormon speakers?

No. As a Christ-centered ministry, Promise Keepers takes the privilege of choosing speakers for our events very seriously, and we enter into each decision with a great deal of prayer. Promise Keepers extends invitations only to those speakers who believe in Jesus Christ and who are committed to sound biblical instruction. Our ministry chooses speakers based upon their agreement to provide a message that is relevant to men, while adhering to and agreeing with the Seven Promises and our Statement of Faith.

The beliefs of the Mormon Church are inconsistent with historic, orthodox Christianity and the Promise Keepers Statement of Faith.

Please be careful about SLANDERING another ministry!

Your brother in Christ with much agape love,

George

I have read some claims here about PK that are not based on a PK gathering at all. I have been a long time PK meeting attender, and I also am an ex-mormon, and I know from personal experience that most of the criticisms posted here against PK are not based on fact. We are not called to judge ministries, we are only to judge the fruit of ministries, and I have seen many conversions, and changed lives because of promise Keepers.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
