For Steven...

Rev 7: (A couple of verses added to your passage)

13 Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?”

14 I answered, “Sir, you know.”

And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

So, did they literally wash their clothing in the blood of Jesus or is this figurative?

Also, the first verse in the chapter....After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four wind?

So, are they literally standing at the four corner of the earth, are there literally four corner of the earth, or is this figurative?

Rev 1:  16 In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.

So, is there a literal sword coming out of the mouth of Jesus, or is this figurative?

II Cor 5: For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, because when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent, we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. Now the one who has fashioned us for this very purpose is God, who has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

This passage is not speaking of actual clothing, it is speaking of our new bodies.   To think this passage is speaking of actual clothing is to miss the whole point of the passage.

Zech 3:Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan[a] standing at his right side to accuse him. The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”

Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.”

Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”

Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by.

The "filthy clothes" here does not refer to actual clothing, look at the next part of the verse, what was taken away was his sin, not his clothes.  The dirty clothes are a metaphor for his sin.

I am not going to lie to you, when someone claims to speak for the Lord I tend to dismiss what they have to say.

All things are given for us to choose... it's the lens that we use that gets us into trouble = mine is God's Word.. what is yours?

It has been my experience that those with the greatest insight from the Lord do not feel the need to tell people they do, it is obvious from their words

That's interesting most of Law and Prophets said 'thus sayeth The Lord'.... interesting

wow, and now you think you are a Prophet.  that is some pride you have...

Perhaps you should take this verse under consideration...

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

The higher the view of self, the further the fall.

I see your problem you do not let the words speak for themselves you read into what you will...

you have no interpretation skills and no where in the sentence structure have I claimed what

you have understood and stated I have!  This whole conversation has become and embarrassment

for you. Others with reading skills and comprehension will be able to determine I have not claimed

to be a prophet nor am I without error in my understanding of God's most perfect Word but only that I

have studied and do seek to know through the self same Word...   Love, Steven

Do the two of you believe that Jesus is sitting on the Throne in the buff?

I believe Jesus sitting on the Throne is a figure of speech not a literal thing....seems He would have gotten tied of sitting after 2000 years.

You didn't answer my question...do you think an actual sword will come out of Jesus' mouth?

Scientifically, no.

Now, do you think Jesus is in the buff?

If that is true, why is it mentioned in Revelation people will be given robes to wear?

Revaluation is a book filled with figurative speech. it tells us a sword will come out of Jesus' mouth...do you think it will be a real sword?

Revelation 7:9

New International Version (NIV)

The Great Multitude in White Robes

9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.

The Lamb is not literal. We understand that the Lamb is Jesus Christ who was sacrificed for our sins, the palm branches represent worship, the white robes represent being clothed in righteousness. I think the number of people who believe that Jesus Christ reincarnates as a literal sheep are very few indeed! Why would we think the white robes are literal?

Do the two of you believe that Jesus is sitting on the Throne in the buff?

I too believe that the Throne is symbolic of rulership.  He is not sitting on a literal big fancy chair, just as there is not a literal Lamb, the palm branches are not literal, and the white robes are symbolic of righteousness.  This passage has no bearing on the question of nudity.

OK, let me rephrase the question -

Do you believe Jesus is in the buff?

I believe Jesus is clothed in righteousness.

I believe that Heaven is a spiritual realm, not a physical one.  Thus Jesus would not be wearing clothing as we think of it.

The style of clothing may change over time, but the definition of "modest" remains the same.

:amen:

In our hearts we all know what modesty means ...it's written on our hearts Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

and had you been born 200 years ago your heart would have known something different than it know now.

what is in your mind? what picture do you see when you think of how The Lord clothed Adam and Eve?

Now THAT is a BRILLIANT question!

I do however, think that modesty is definitely cultural. I was raised to wear long dresses, cover my arm to my elbow, and cover my head when in church. Muslim culture is cover! Mennonite culture is cover. These are cultures within our culture. So to define modesty is actually not such a cut and dry thing. To me, a dress that goes only to the knee is not modest. But I still wear them on occasion. Most are long. To me, if you can see arm pits, it is not modest. And MOST, if not all women will wear sleeveless shirts.

Modesty to one, is immodest to another no matter what you wear really. I think the Muslims have modesty right. ;)

But that does not answer the question. Is He naked, by any understanding of the word or imagery?

nakedness is a physical attribute, thus it does not apply

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
