I don't think the donkey had a hidden agenda. :b:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

If there's one thing that the American public does the best, it's that we over-evaluate and find a conspiracy within every aspect of our lives. Even if Mel had a hidden agenda, we must ask ourselves how this film has harmed Christianity. Unless we can come up with conclusive proof, we must realize that our opinions are with no effect.

Super Jew;

I'm glad the movie was made; I respect Mel's stance and courage!

Though I dont believe his churches doctrine can lead one to true salvation, unless they ignore all the false teaching, which is ignoring the church they say they follow.

I believe that this move has scared some people to God or back to God, but with such a small choice of true churches that preach the narrow way, I'm afraid the feeling won't last!

But be that as it may; for some ,God used this movie !

Another good movie to scare people into repentence would be a biblical movie on the realities of Hell! We got all the unbiblical ones and the stupid christian attempts!

But Mel wouldn't be able to pull this one off; since he believes in praying for the dead, and in pergatory; where if you pay enough money you may be able to buy a loved one out of pergatory, and save them from hell !

One thing I know for sure is that no one will ever make a movie on the cost of loosing your life here and all it's desires, to save it, to live completely for Christs will, as Paul the Apostle did and encouraged !

That would be so unpopular you couldn't give it away !

So what this country really needs is some last minute destruction and massive persecution, like in the Sudan, to separate those who really will endure, and separate the sheep from the goats! Otherwise few will repent of this luke-warmness!

It's coming, and pray that it does, for it will be the mercy of God to test and try His people in the fires of affliction, and in doing so even pulling others from the fire!

Agape; Epraim.

I'm not sure where you are getting this from but "fear" is not something that many felt in watching this movie. That is not even close to the emotion or "feel" of the movie. Perhaps you should watch it and then you might be able to discuss it with a little more info. (not meant to be rude in any way... :b: )

I can honestly say I felt some fear after watching The Passion... fear that I was unworthy of such forgiveness, fear that I was wasting the most wonderful gift ever offered.

For those that worry about the "catholicism" in the movie, and say it focusses too much on Mary, I would point to the fact that it was God's "tear" that shook the world, and that Mary was never portrayed as anything but a mere mortal mother.

LivingForHisGlory;

If you read the new testament daily, as we should, we get an accurate picture of the price Jesus paid, and all that will follow Him must also share in His sufferings, and die to themselves!

Guilt, may have been a better word, because we forget the price that was paid, and how little most of us have crucified our own flesh, and suffered in the furnace of affliction, to be purified as silver and gold, becoming more and more transformed, and vassals of honor useful for His service!

But this guilt develops into fear of those who have back-slidden; and those who count the cost of following to great!

This was what I really meant; people are afraid, and selfish to give their whole life!

The story portrays Christ's sufferings, but the story also implies that ALL those who are willing to follow Him must also be willing to pay that same price!

Most of the Apostles paid the price of horrible deaths; and someday it will come here, if God has mercy to pull the luke-warm out of the fire.

Agape; Ephraim.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Being a Redeemer is His identity. His entire nature encompasses taking what is evil and making it good. Taking what is lost and making it found. Taking what is dead and making it alive. Almost anything we do as humans will be tainted by our own selfish ambition or agenda. Thankfully, God specializes in taking those things and giving them eternal purpose. See Genesis 50:20. If God can take satan's agenda and use it, I think he can take yours or mine too.

Hello again, I think the overwhelming thing about the passion is it depicted a message to all peoples. That in the last 12 hours Jesus suffered greatly and died on the cross and rose again on the third day. Through His suffering He freed us from sin. If any non-believer that saw this movie has now a realiziation that Jesus really does exists and that He loves all of us and if they come to the Lord becuase of this then I belive it is good. This movie had major impact on many believers and non-believers. The true message is Christ loved us so much that He died for each and everyone of us and through accepting Him into our Life we are saved, Born again !! Many people were brought to Jesus because of this movie. Thats the plain and simple fact. Praise God for all the means of witnessing that are available even hollywood movies .........

I did not see the movie and do not plan to see it . The fact that is was bassed on Catholic doctrine and a nuns visions makes it unacceptable to me........

I was raised catholic so know the beliefs and do not wish to clutter my mind with more false doctrine.......

The more we accept catholic doctrine as gospel the more removed from the Word of God we become............

The fact that is produced human response does not make it accurate and the fact that it changed people still does not make it right or true...................

Mel Gibson may be sincere and believe all he says but he is sincerely WRONG.......

The Catholic church is not the only way to Christ. the Word says Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thow shalt be saved.............

Idols relics prayers to dead people graven images etc all unscriptual and Mary is not coredemtrex with My Lord and Saviour Jesus.........

I know this will upset some and I know that there are many who believe that catholics are christians (there are catholics in here ) but this is my opinion and no one else needs to beleive what I believe. I will answer to the Lord for my beleifs as everyone else will, so please don't start thowing condemnation at me ..........

It is MY opinion I don't ask you to beleive it accept it.

In Christ

This movie was an extremely reflective movie. Whatever you took into the movie you came out with, only a hundred fold.

It is true that there are many deep catholic teachings in the movie. They were intertwined into the story and unless you were knowledgable of the teachings they simply came across as the privilege of the writer/director to make the story flow and have life going on in the background.

I went with my wife and had two close friends that also saw it, and none of them even remembered the things of the catholic teaching. So if it was ment as a subliminal teaching it didn't work for those things didn't even register with the general public.

If you came in a catholic, you left with a deeper understanding of your faith. If you came in as a general christian, you left with a deeper understanding of just what our Lord actually did for us.

If you came in as a sinner, you came out with the understanding that "My God, he didn't even have to do that, did he." "Why would anyone do that." I have heard that from so many non christian people I lost count. It got their attention and made them think, and that is something that I have not seen hardly anyone do much lately with the possible exception of Billy Graham.

We had the same experience with the viewers in the movie, it was not only silent when the movie started, it was silent when we all left. I saw the eyes of those lined up to see the next showing and they were all spellbound watching us leave the theater. Some even had their mouths wide open just staring at us.

I purchased the movie the first day it went out on dvd........ I simply can't watch it again. It was not a waste of money for I'll loan it out to many people, but like 2bba, I simply do not have the inner energy to go through it again. I think to do so might start a numbing process that I really don't want to happen. I think I understand the physical thing he did for us, but I can not even begin to imagine the mental torment He went through when the Father turned away...... no words..... simply no words.

In life for me I know of no one that has had anything but a positive experience from watching the movie. But be assured that it is just a movie, just a movie about my Lord and Master, showing me what he did for me physically and giving me a small taste of what I hope to not experience come judgement day when the father turns away from the lost.... loss of words..... loss... of words

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
