Sunflower, sometimes we see what we want to see in a person. That is how it was when I married my husband. But I was being very stupid because light and darkness have nothing in common. It was 11 miserably painful, lonely years before he was saved and all I can do is to warn you that we need to take God's commands seriously in 2 Corinthians 6:14. I would urge you to keep him as a friend but not a close friend or even a boyfriend until he completely surrenders to the Lord and you have certain and close fellowship in Christ. Please don't be fooled by him or fool yourself as I did. Willa

Be the light on the hill, that's all you have to do. You don't have to push it, or force anything, just be the light.

The rest will happen as it should.

I humbly respect your feelings. You are giving out and you get little or nothing. You are watering but not getting the increase. You need to know who you are and what you have been called to do. You are a child of God, you carry the spirit of God. Born of the will of God and not man. What have you been called to do. Preach the gospel, heal the sick, oppressed, give sight to the blind, carry God in you. You are the light of the world. You shine in darkness. I tell people, set your life on heavenly things, on the work of God. When your friend sees the true God in you, he will follow.

There is what we call dying to the flesh. You cannot say you are a Christian without dying to flesh. Are your desires for the flesh dead? Are you trying to live for your relationship? Let Christ live inside of you. You are not of this world anymore. You are a new creature. Let the world follow you as you follow Christ

I also respect your feeling on this matter, but to tell someone they are called to operate within all the gifts is not correct.

1 Corinthians 12

Spiritual Gifts: Unity in Diversity

Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

Unity and Diversity in One Body

For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many.

If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,” is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. And if they were all one member, where would the body be?

But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary. And those members of the body which we think to be less honorable, on these we bestow greater honor; and our unpresentable parts have greater modesty, but our presentable parts have no need. But God composed the body, having given greater honor to that part which lacks it, that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

To say everyone is called to heal, to perform miracles, to teach, to prophesy, etc. is against scripture.  The Holy Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.  To say all one has to do is claim it is so wrong and can lead people to believe they lack the faith to do His will when He never gave them the ability to perform what they are trying to perform.

We each are given one or more gifts, depending on how the Holy Spirit works in our lives.  Come to know Him and what He is offering you.  Study the meaning of 2 Peter 1:5-10.

As for the OP, I agree that God will set in your life someone meant specifically for you.  Have patience and do His will and He will supply all your needs.  The hard part is understanding there is a difference between wants and needs.

Blessings Sunflower

Sometimes ,especially when one has just had the thrill of meeting Jesus & is celebrating the joy of Salvation they can be a little overwhelming to people,or perhaps I should not try to be so diplomatic....they can be overbearing & this could have adverse results & actually push a person away(if the Lord is not drawing them in).....I do not know your friend,I do not know his personalty,,,,,sometimes I find the quietest people to simply be the very best listeners

The best way to spread the Gospel of Christ is by having the Heart & Mind of Christ & walking in spirit & in Truth, living our faith & displaying all the fruits of the spirit usually leads to questions & with the guidance of the Holy Spirit you will be aware of those "ministry moments",the Lord will speak through you.......one may ask"well, how do I do these things?"....the answer is by your own relationship with the Lord, the more we surrender our selves to Jesus without reservation the more we we become one with Him Who abides in us & do His Will according to he Power that works in us(we decrease,He increases)

Your friend may very well be listening (I do not know)but I do know that without the Power of the Holy Spirit we cannot lead anyone to the foot of the cross.........when we move with the Wisdom & Counsel of the Holy Spirit it is effortless & there is no question about what we should do or how we should do it.....Glory to God,the Holy Spirit is also our Comforter..........pray to be sensitive to the indwelling, that His Will be done  & just "love''  your friend......

                                                                                                                With love-in Christ,Kwik.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
