I loved the books, hope they stick to the books and don't add or take away a bunch of stuff.

I didn't read the books. I didn't even know there were books. But I saw the 1st series of movies. The odd thing is those movies were made in the 60's or 70's, judging by the cars. However, I saw them in 1991. So while they were ok, they were too dated. I hope this movie is up to date. If that means changing them from the books, so be it.

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is on Nicholas Cage playing Rayford in the new Left Behind movie.

I really love the original Left Behind with Kirk Cameron.

I have heard the pros and cons of Nicholas Cage playing in this movie.

I heard him on an interview saying that his brother is a Pastor.

Some say they don't want to watch the movie because he is in it and they don't believe he is a Christian.

Some say that even though he is not a Christian that God can still use him to reach people in this movie.

I personally am looking forward to going to see this movie in the theater.

I am not particularly thrilled about Nicholas Cage being in the movie however I really want to go see this movie.

Not to sure what to say about this.  It could be that God is using this movie to speak to his heart.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if this is the very thing  that got him  saved and he went on to be used of God.  Really I didn't even know they were remaking the movie.  If the same production  companay is making the movie, Cloud 10 Productions I believe they use all Christians for speaking parts.  Extras,,, not so much.

i'm not a fan of kirk cameron. i just think his acting ability is sub-par... and it reflects in every movie i've ever seen him in. i absolutely hated the original version of the movie. the book was great, but the film was a B-movie at best. and that's being generous, in my opinion.

 

nicolas cage, however, is one of my all time favorites. the movie hits the box office on my birthday, and even though i rarely go to theaters, i'm really hoping my husband will take me to see it on opening day. i think this is going to be a very powerful remake.

60's or 70's? LOL, wow. i should take a look at the film again to see what the cars were being used. the first book in the series wasn't even published until 1995. the first movie version was released five years later.

 

just looked at your profile JTC.... i am editing this because now i know that you'd definitely know the difference between the cars of the 90s vs. the 60s. i really must take a look (very brief look) at the original movie again. it won't be a long look, because i really didn't like it at all the first time.

     Kirk Cameron wasn't even born until 1970 ,so I would imagine he had to be at least in his 20's when the movie was made so it was probably a 90's film(someone asked?)JTC?....................I don't think its that they were dated but they were awfully low budgeted & that was probably what made it so unappealing

      I don't think it really matters what the actor is ,,,Christian or not,,,,,they act,thats what they do in movies,perhaps if N.Cage is not saved he will be when he is done filming,,,,,,,Glory to God!!!!!!Bring in the people,thats what matters & if the lead actor will help to do that,great!!!!

Acutally they were made early in 2000 and 2001.  Left behind and Left Behind 2 were not made in 91 just a heads up for you.

my only complaint so far with the new movie is Tim Lahaye is still involved. I lost all respect for him after he sued the original movie producers.
