That awesome picture, other one, reminds me of New Zealand.

My `fun` was to fly. I learned to fly small aircraft & would love to fly over friends places & do a `wiggle the wings,` or just look around. Then when coming into land I would try different techniques such as `full power from a long way off, or full flaps high above the runway & then descend rapidly & float onto the `keys,` the end of the tarmac.

When the aero club had a `fun` day we would have competitions as to who could `flour bomb` from the air, the closest to the target on the ground. Because a lot of these days were held on people`s properties we had to be careful when we took off or landed, to not run into the cows or kangaroos that might wander on to the runway which was a paddock.

I have a friend who has a plane....    a cool thing that  some of his pilot buddies do is to take a over sized roll of toilet paper up to about 8,000 feet and toss it out the window.     Then they will make turns to come around and cut the unrolled paper into halves with their wings and see how many times they can cut it until they get down to about 800 feet.   Slow tight maneuvering.   I don't think I have any pictures though.

Hi other one,

They would be skilful to do that, the tight turns. One thing I didn`t like was to practise `stalls,` for when you pull the stick back more & more & the stall siren blared at you, when you looked behind you there was the earth straight down & then of course you had to quickly push the stick forward & you then headed at a great speed of knots towards the earth.

I did enjoy gliding also which was very peaceful.

I think your skill & gifting in taking photos is a blessing as it is something you can share with others. God seems to give you those `special` times & places to capture. Can you share any more?

My wife and I garden when the weather's warm. When it's cold outside we put on music (mainly classic rock or big band stuff from the 40s) and just snuggle, or we watch classic movies. I'm also a writer, so I'm usually working on something for my agent! :vader:

i'd like to ask the OP.... what do NON christians do for fun in their free time?

i would think the answers are quite similar to that of christians, minus the recreational sex and getting obliterated at parties.

There are a lot of nonchristians who don't do that stuff either. I'm pretty sure my mom isn't up to that ;). I'm not picking on you at all, but I suppose I'd just caution against stereotyping...

It's not everyday that I get free time for myself (how I wish!). Frankly speaking, since I became a mum, I haven't come across one occasion when I had an entire day to myself! Still, here's what I love to do when I have some me-time on my hands: I read science fiction, listen to Shakira (Waka Waka is my all-time go-to song for whenever I'm feeling down; somehow it always peps me up), take my dog for a walk, drink coffee, drink more coffee and then drink still more coffee, watch re-runs of old TV series.. Yes, that's about it. Don't get too much time to do anything else ;-)

There are times when the entire family sits together, for instance in the evenings when we all gather together in the living room. Since I am beginning to take up blogging (related to kids) very seriously, this is the time when I sit down and chalk out my editorial calendar or pen down a few lines. For me, this is the best way to get my creative juices flowing, done with the houesehold chores and meals for the day. If my husband is also busy with his work on his laptop, then we make sure the kids do something worthwhile like play educational games like these; if they had their way, they would be very happy to sit for two hours in front of the television, wide-eyed, watching anything that is on the idiot box. But we make sure this doesn't happen and they indulge in something beneficial for them. Or else if me and/or my husband have no urgent work to be done then we sit together and play a board game like pictionary or scrabble. My husband and I secretly call this our 'family bonding time'. And we know this is what memories are made of. This way when our children have flown the nest, we'll still have good times to look back upon :)

no worries, i wasn't stereotyping so much as being sarcastic in my response to the way OP had worded his question. i know very well that there are non-christians who don't do those things.

Blessings, Marilyn.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
