"Make it your ambition to lead a quite life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you, so you will behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need."

So how do you think this looks.  Some say to be out there witnessing.  Contradictory.  I am not 'out there witnessing.'  It is my belief people need to see salt in me before I let them know somehow I am a christian.  What are your thoughts on this scripture.?

I have known people who joined in a Christian group because they wanted to be with the Christians.

One person in particular got to know a group of Messianic Jews. They liked the excitement, the comradery, the fun, etc. So, they professed Jesus and joined in. They even went out to share the gospel with the group. But, when things started to get hard, and they had some issues with a member of the group, they left, renounced Jesus.  I was given the opportunity to read by this person to read their diary written during the time. One thing to me was so obvious. This person was very attracted to the group and wanted very badly to be a part of the group. They were not really attracted to Jesus, but 'accepted' Jesus only to be a part of the group. They never really believed. As soon as things got rough, and some in the group disappointed, they left because it was never about Jesus for them.

I have come to realize that I probably can and will disappoint others. I have also come to believe that I am not to attract people to me by my wonderful behavior, but I am to help people come to Jesus, as He is wonderful. Jesus will never disappoint. So, I do not wait to talk about Jesus.

I am not saying that we are not to be concerned about how we act. I believe we are always to be working towards being conformed to Jesus, which allows the Spirit to produce the fruit of the Spirit.  I just don't want people impressed by me. I want them impressed by Jesus.

I do have to say that I agree with you.......I have a cousin, foul mouth, anger issues, impatient, what can I say,,,,she is simply unkind & not nice to people ,a life filled with drama and little concern for anyone else,,,,,,yet, she professes to be"a Christian",,,,,do not get me wrong, she has a very wonderful ,loving side but it rarely comes out,,,,,,,,,I am not her judge but her fruits show me she is carnal minded & I have often asked her that until she can represent Christ as He should be represented ,it may be best from announcing to everyone that she is a Christian.........please understand that we were once close enough to talk to each other that way,truthfully.......

I do not know anything about you but I admire & respect the fact that you do not want to tarnish the Image of Christ, with this heart of yours,,,,,He will surely transform you into a new creature that will be a shining Light to others...........at this time ,if you truly feel that you are not walking in Spirit & in Truth, ask Him to draw you nearer Him,read His Word more, pray .focus on Him and you will begin the renewing of your mind....................everyone will see what Jesus has  done for you & to God be the Glory!!!!!!

                                                                                                                  With love-in Christ,Kwik

Hi Pamelasv,

I encourage us all to keep building those relationships & when the difficult times come then people can turn & ask for help for they have seen the consistency & care shown over a period of time. That is what I believe is living `a quiet life.` Being in every day life with people, doing the every day things where people can see us & we can relate to them albeit on different levels to different folks.

Blessings, Marilyn.

I think it is very important that others see Jesus living in and through our lives before them.  Believers should live out their faith in what they believe in their walk with the Lord.  Being an example is important because when others come to know the Lord and be born again they'll remember the example of other believers who walked before them showing them the way and will follow their lead.  None of us are perfect of course and others will see our mistakes along the way.  But living peaceable and godly lives in this world speaks volumes as well as sharing our faith verbally when we are ask for a reason of the hope we have.  Being busybodies and being in everybodies business not our own will cause problems that are not our own.  God wants us to have peace and not meddle in others business.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
