how do you know that the Pharisees lived in what we would call mansions???    They might have lived in better housing than the average Israelite, but to project our concept of a mansion on them is really rather baseless unless you can provide some evidence.

And furthermore, the word used in Greek for the English word "mansion"  doesn't refer to a house.  It refers to a room or apartment.  The KJV word "mansion" is a poor translation.

Where do you find in Scripture that heaven is divided into twelve countries????    I would like to see the verses that back up that assertion.   Where does the Bible say that everyone will belong to a tribe???

I am thinking that this is false teaching that Christians need to reject

Hi Shiloh357,

I agree with you. (Another good day, other one :mgcheerful:)

And to the general conversation -

As I have said before - Gold perishes (1 Peter 1: 7) (& precious jewels). Those are not what God builds with but `the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes.`

And it is our glorified body that the Apostle Paul says to the Body of Christ is `our house which is from heaven.` (2 Cor. 5: 2)

Heaven is not a better copy of earth. We will have glorified bodies like the Lord that can go through dimensions, that never wear out or get tired etc. Thus why do we need bedrooms, bathrooms, etc etc :hmmm:

Marilyn.

I was giving my reasons why I believe that mansions means just what it says, and that heaven has enough variety to cater for every need. Whatever else I have read is really not on topic, and goes on a tangent.

So I'll give a single starting verse to your Q about tribes, without giving the many texts available. Revelation 21:12.

And by the way, mansions comes from the word abodes, which in itself has no definition, however, the self indulgent mansions of earth has are not necessarily a reflection of Christian modesty which you are rightly implying, of which Christ is our example of, so it is very likely that the mansions will glorify God and not earth, in the sense that there will be designated areas that integrate buildings with their natural surroundings in a balanced way, to be picture perfect.

Yes and your reasons for believing they are "mansions"  in the western, American sense of the word is not biblical

The other questions you can't answer because you have no basis for them.   Revelation 21:12 simply says that the gates are named after 12 tribes of Israel. It nowhere says that everyone will be assigned to a tribe.   That is just false teaching that we can soundly reject.

I think it is unwise to say that before actually knowing any better.

You have accused me of having no basis for what I have posted, without any proof whatsoever, and also demanded to be given a comprehensive Bible study, while preparing a label of heresy for the one who would feed you.

That's interesting.

Where did you acquire these policies from?

These are not 'policies ",but when you are stating things such as these as a "matter of fact' it is just reasonable that someone ask how you came to these conclusions......this being a Christian Ministry we are here united by our Faith.in our Lord Jesus .... ,we will always refer to Scripture & naturally ask"Where is that written ?"    WE are instructed by our Lord to never add to or subtract from what is Written and the things you shared are not found in the Scriptures,,,,,,,are these your interpretations or have you read these things from someplace in particular?, it is a very simple question, you do not have to answer the question but by youir response it seems very clear that you have mis-interpreted what you have read

WE come here and reason together, extol one another, encourage one another ,learn from one another & c orrect one another when we are in err,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this helps us to grow & be effective as one Body with Christ as our Head to go out & preach the Gospel to every creature,,,,,,,,,we have to warn each other of false teachings & look out for one another and to God be the Glory!

mansion is not an actual translation, and the word would not have conjured up our definition of a mansion in the minds of the disciples.   When jesus spoke to his disciples, they were not thinking of 150 room palaces like we do.

"Mansion" is indeed one of the translations -- if not the most suitable -- for the Greek word mone:

Strong's Concordance

moné: an abiding, an abode

Original Word: μονή, ῆς, ἡ

Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine

Transliteration: moné

Phonetic Spelling: (mon-ay')

Short Definition: lodging, dwelling-place, room

Definition: lodging, dwelling-place, room, abode, mansion.

What makes you so sure that Jesus was not speaking about mansions, since He was alluding to glorious dwelling places in Heaven, of which we have no concept?

Why could a heavenly mansion not be 100 times better than any earthly mansion?  After all they will accommodate kings and priests in the sight of God? To talk about niggardly "rooms" in such a splendid city is to do despite to the grace and generosity of God.  To dismiss "mansions" is to also dismiss the glorious and eternal inheritance which God has reserved for His saints, since that inheritance will be placed in those "mansions sublime".

That's totally understandable, but to cry "heretic" before a hearing is far too zealous. And I did state things as a matter of fact, because I took it for granted that the readers already knew.

As I said, I'll just give you one text of many to start your personal studies. Rarely does one text say it all, you know that.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
