The bible says we as Christians are not to partake in the sins of another. Homosexuality is a sin. So why is baking a cake for them sin or against Christian beliefs? What I am having trouble with is this. Jesus was called a drunk and a glutton and a friend of sinners because that's who he was around most of the time. One of his first miracles in the book of John is turning water in to wine at a wedding after everyone had gotten drunk. If Jesus can create wine and be at a wedding where people are going to drink the wine he just made ( after they have already been drinking a good while ) to get drunk. If Jesus can be around " sinners " all the time to the point that people call Jesus a drunk and a glutton , Then why is it wrong to bake a cake for a gay wedding?

Marriage is God's domain.  He created marriage.   Gay who wed do not have a marriage because God and God alone defines what marriage is.  Gay "marriage"  is a perversion of God's prescription for marriage and human sexuality and he calls it an abomination.   That would include anything in the peripheral that goes with it, such as wedding cakes, photography, and providing any other goods an services to facilitate that kind of event.

We as believers cannot, biblically, lend our resources/services to facilitate and enable what God has stated clearly that he hates.

This has nothing in common with Jesus being willing to seen with sinners.   Jesus didn't avoid sinners, but Jesus didn't participate in, or enable their sinful habits or lifestyle.    Jesus was called a glutton and drunk by his enemies, those who were lying to discredit him all of the time.  You can't go by their words.   Jesus was neither a glutton nor a drunk.  It was just a slander that was issued against Jesus when they couldn't find a legitimate reason to hate him.

What about Jesus making the wine at the wedding, wasn't that enabling the people at the wedding to get drunk?

It's important to understand that wine in those days was not near as strong as what we produce to day.  They relied on only natural fermentation which has a much, much lower alcohol content than our modern processes.    So it is not the case that Jesus was enabling anyone to get drunk, any more than multiplying the bread and fish was enabling people to over eat.  The alcoholic content of drinks in Bible times and what they considered "strong drink"  would be  like drinking water when compared to the proof levels of modern alcoholic beverages of today.

I'm not sure where you've got that information from Shiloh. It sounds like 'science' made-up by Pentecostals (when they're not claiming that the wine in the Bible was alcohol-free that is). Natural fermentation processes in any grape juice would still create an alcohol content of anywhere from 9-15%, more than enough to get somebody drunk with just a few glasses.. Anybody who makes home-made wine will tell you that.

To my knowledge the finest wines are still produced by traditional methods. There is no 'pumping up' of the alcohol content in any shape or form. We have even discovered wines from Ancient Greece that have been preserved for two thousand years. The diver Jacques Cousteau found such an urn buried at the bottom of the sea, sealed, waterproof and containing the original wine made at the time. He drank it himself and testified just how strong it was.

Once yeast is added to a sugary solution and starts to ferment it will continue to ferment until all or most of the sugar turns to alcohol. In fact stopping the fermentation process is more difficult than accelorating it. It's one reason that you can't make a sweet beer by adding more sugar. All that happens is the extra sugar ferments and makes the beer stronger. The excess sugar turns to alcohol and contributes nothing to any sweetness. I can testify to this myself from my 'home-brew' days.

With grape juice in particular, fermentation is more likely to occur than not, especially in a warm climate because yeast lives on the skin of grapes and as soon as a grape is crushed it comes into contact with the juice. Yeast is a living fungus that feeds on sugar and breaks it down to form alcohol and carbon dioxide as by-products. Any grape-juice stored in a covered container would turn to wine soon enough left to its own devices. Old grape juice nearly always had alcohol in it.

Modern processes are used to kill the yeast rather than encourage it. They are actually incorporated to prevent the creation of alcohol in the first place. Which is why if you buy a carton of alcohol-free grape juice you'll probably find that it contains yeast-killing preservatives to prevent the sugar from turning into alcohol and not the other way round.

Even the poorest of grapes, grown in poor soils that are low in sugar will still produce an alcohol content of around 9% when crushed and left alone for a few days or weeks. 9% is much stronger than any beer, lager or cider.

why is it wrong to bake a cake for a gay wedding?

1. First of all it is NOT a "gay" wedding but a wretched wedding.  Paul says that the things which are done are not even to be mentioned because they are so filthy.

2. Homosexual unions are condemned and judged in Scripture, not celebrated with cakes.  Lot's wife was judged for even looking back at Sodom and Gomorrah.  Think about that.

3. God hates the sin and loves the sinner. Therefore the only message to give to homosexuals (as to all sinners) is repent and be converted.

4. Therefore baking a cake for a homosexual "wedding" (a perversion of the word) is giving approval to that which is condemned by God.  A homosexual wedding is actually a Satanic attack against lawful marriage and lawful unions.

The answer is answered with a simple question....

Would Jesus bake a cake for a gay wedding....

~

Amen~! Jesus Did A Whole Lot More For The Gay Folk

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Than Just Bake A Wedding Cake

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

I See

And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, Revelation 1:5

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
