I mean it was just the fact it seem to single out the KJV, while I don't care for many of the newer version I would rather someone have a NIV than no Bible at all, so I would think even if you don't like the KJV it would be better to have a KJV Bible than none at all. They will obviously take NKJV
Guest shiloh357
So a couple of days ago I was in a Lifeway Store, and had to used the bathroom, as I head for the bathroom, I notice a sign asking for old Bibles, but was astonished to see on the bottom of the sign no KJV Bible please, being a KJVP some might even call me a KJVO, I was a little offended; most of my old Bibles are KJV not all, but most. Just wondering do think I was wrong to be offended?I use KJV exclusively. I own an NKJV because it was a gift from a older couple at church and so it has sentimental value and it has some good articles being it is called "The Patriot's Bible." So I hold on to it. I prefer the KJV to modern versions, especially the NIV. I think if people are wanting Bible donations, they should be happy to receive what they are getting for free. It's not wrong to be offended at that, but it just shows the signs of the times.

Then I would go from there on how I feel depending on the reason that was given. In other words I guess I need more info before being offended. For myself, I am basically KJV but that is what I know. To me, other versions are confusing. I did graduate to a NKJV and NIV now and then, but that it is. The point is, for folks to read what they understand.
