My German Grand father made it through the I and 11 world war by having been guided through the Holy spirit of God guiding him.

My German grandfather got save through Christ Jesus appearing to him in a dream. this changed his life so dramatically that all the rest of his life he spoke to whoever about Christ Jesus and the Word of God found in the Holy Bible..

I was raised both catholic and hearing my Holy Bible grandfather read the bible  and praise the Lord. My relationship with God over the years went through many different twist and turns to eventuality have been seriously called back by Him, like John 10 :14 states.

I always talked to God, since i was a child. To hear back from  God is in the moments we are quiet and sincere of heart to receive His guidance.

To ask if anyone else has ever heard audibly God speak to them ?  or understands what you are saying, is kind of like: do we say what we truly experienced with the possibility of being judged here in a negative view or do we say our truth anyway.

I would not be taking and defending Christ Jesus if i had not experienced Him personally working in my life the way He has.  The things He has done for me, as I have drawn to Him throughout my life.

Of course i am not perfect. of course, I have still have much to learn and more to grow in His wisdom, patience and Grace, yet, even so, He has spoken to me many times over the many years, i have seeked Him and still does .

And even so, it is still yet up to me to continue to seek His will over mine which is a constant challenge every day.

So to answer the question asked, yes God has spoken to me especially in the moments when I am still and open to be in relationship with Him.

Was it actual spoken words?

I have extreme difficulty separating dreams from reality.  Many times I believe I had real conversations with people only to find out they were dreams I was remembering days or weeks later.

Well this has never happened to me before.  I awoke from a sound sleep last night, I guess about 12:30, which would technically be this morning, with these words repeating over and over in my head.  The words were " hope thou in Me".  It was like a recording playing over and over.  At first I couldn't figure out what was going on; I was awake, not dreaming.  After I thought about it for a bit I realized it was the Lord telling me this.  I DO place all hope in Him so maybe He was just reminding me to continue?  So I thought "cool" and got up, got a drink of water and went back to sleep.  I woke up in a good mood too.  Have any of you ever experienced anything like this?

Usually happens before you go through a trial or test. (I have never heard God speak to me audibly, I have ears but hear not).

The speaking from the Holy Spirit of God that i was referring to is not an audible one that every one in the room can hear.

Its an inner calling.  One has to be careful when expressing ourselves, when you say you heard from God, some people can say you have some type of schizophrenia going on.

There are also evil spirit that can try to come in through thoughts, dreams, suggestions.

As Christians, we have the protection of the Holy Spirit of God and the blood of Jesus as our covering, but also our christian walk is important, as to how we live.

A Christian may be protected from possession, but depending on how they choose to live, they can be oppressed. Living as an oppressed christian, is someone who still has some rebellion in him/her that needs to be dealt with. But I truly believe that if you just keep asking God to help you overcome certain week spots in your life,(we all have them) and keep seeking to do His will over yours, keep praying (talking to God), He will respond  back to your prayer in His way. He will do His part in convicting your spirit and try guiding you away from whatever may be oppressing you. It all has a lot to do with placing our trust more and more in God and placing more and more of our faith and trust in God, in His word over our will. the more trust and faith, faithfulness we place in God, the more He can work through us.

Coming back to the Holy spirit of God speaking to you as a christian having a daily relationship with God, it is not unlikely that you will hear the Holy Spirit of God speak to you through your heart and this sometimes can be heard like a voice speaking to you, audibly for you within you, but that nobody else will hear.

Yes Morning Glory.  The day before my dad died, I came home and walking down the hall of our home and  the scripture was clearly spoken to my heart.   "No weapon formed against you will prosper"  I knew that I knew it was the voice of the Lord.   Don't you love the way He works and speaks to us?

I don't know why God would verbally speak this to your mind when He has said hope cometh by hearing and
hearing by The Word of God but certainly the subjective nature leaves me unable to try the s (S) pirit because
it all hinges on whether or not is was God Who was talking...  and how can it be tested by The Word of God
written with so little proclaimed :noidea: but the result peace and back to sleep is good :D  Love, Steven

You absolutely get it, Steven!  ;)

Have you looked up the words "hope thou in me" in a concordance to see how they may apply?  Perhaps you would find answers there?  For instance, here is something interesting from the Psalms.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?  and why art thou disquieted in me?  hope thou in God:  for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.  Psalm 42:5

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?  and why art thou disquieted within me?  hope thou in God:  for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.  Psalm 42:11

Why art thou cast down, O my soul?  and why art thou disquieted within me?  hope in God:  for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.  Psalm 43:5

I found it interesting that this was repeated, almost the same 3 times in those two Psalms, and in each case, the Psalmist is saying that his soul is disquieted and he is feeling that his soul has been cast down.  His advise seems to be to give praise unto God and says that will lead to health of his countenance.  This wasn't spoken to me, so I don't know if this applies in any way to you, but there are different places where there are scriptures that could apply to what you heard.  Perhaps one of them would mean something to you personally?

Words to ponder on, Butero.  I AM going to look that phrase up in a Concordance.  It's not a phrase I have ever used to my knowledge.

Either God is preparing you for something or you were in a dream state and it was your own mind.   It's going to be difficult to know which it is for now.

No, I was fully awake and thirsty.  I was sitting on the edge of my bed and groping for my slippers when it started.  So I sat there and tried to figure out where that phrase was coming from.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
