  1. 1. Are there individuals, here at Worthy, who seem to habitually turn most everything into a squabble?

I think sometimes, yes, what do you think? Some threads by nature or their topics, invite debate, I am not speaking about that. I am speaking about times, where a thread starts out with a topic, that one would not suspect would lead to debate. I am not even talking about debate, as though it has no place, it can be a way to learn and to teach, to those who have the personality and self control to have those intellectual exchanges with out escalating it to a state of little mini-fights.

You have seen them, no doubt, recognized by the fact, that the tend to cease speaking to the topic, and begin to increasingly devolve to two or more persons, focusing on the perceived faults of other poster. Sometimes, they are just about criticising one's ability to use logic. Sometimes they might state that the other person is wrong, rather that saying "my opinion is different"! In some cases, they go so far as to accuse other of being heretics, or unsaved.

If there are two possible answers to a question, a person might have a 50/50 chance of getting it right. I would bet, that over 90% of people, do not consider that they could be the one who is wrong, and when that possibility is suggested, they respond in anger, more often than thoughtful self examination.

I at times, am amazed at how certain people are, that they have it right. Occasionally, a person thinks that they are the only one that has it right. What are the odds of that being true? If a persons think that they are the only one that is right, I wonder, truthfully, if there is something wrong with with such a person, a true mental condition!

Well, I did not mean to say this much, not mention all of these thoughts. I was just intending to ask, if you think that there are certain persons, who habitually argue with others, as though that is their mission and calling in life, do we have these here at Worthy (no names please)?

Would the passages and verses on the page at this link, apply to any of these people, do you think?

Hello Mega,

I believe we are ALL guilty at causing strive at times :(

We  ALL have to repent and think before we post, including people who are in Worthy ministry

We  ALL  have to be very careful, that what we post is  as onto the Lord .

Strive is never good and I hope I didn't upset anybody?

If I did I ask you for forgive me~~

Can we All start a new fresh start and think what our motive of posting is,is it to be right or pleasing to God?

Philippians 2:5

The Attitude of Christ
4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.5Let this mind be in you which was also inChrist Jesus: 6Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to cling to,…

The key thing is to think before we post,do we want to push our opinion ?

Do we correct in love?

Do we want to be right?

Do we want to serve God or feel good about ourselves?

Philippians 1:27Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or remain absent, I will hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Love you all:emot-heartbeat:

Blessings Mega,,,,,,,aqua

Another great Topic Sir,,,,,,,,Yes,there are the folks that are just plain "obstinate"  ,,,,,,,someone days the sky is blue & they will immediately say," No,it is not,,,it is green" just for the sake of argument,,,,,,is there an agenda,Yes,,,,,but it is not flesh & blood we struggle with,it is principalities,,,,,,,

Problem I see is the carnal mind,,,,,,"re-acting" as opposed to "responding",,,,,,not every single comment needs someones P's & Q's,,,,,,but it does need prayer & following where God wants to use you,as His Vessel,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,in other words,"zip it",think, consider, pray & respond,,,,IF the Holy Spirit prompts you

Sometimes I myself c an get so weary of the same person"persons",,,,,,predictable re-actions & "pot-stirring",,,,,,,,mostly I just ignore them but it can get frustrating, especially when you are having a very nice discussion & along comes"so & so" to add strife,,,,,,,purposefully,,,,,,we have to remember,it is not "them" doing it but the enemy behind the scenes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,"Resist the devil & he will flee",,,,,,if we don't respond they will have no argument,,,,,,I only find this difficult when OTHERS are being attacked,,,,,,,,I am one of those with a soft spot for the meek, the vulnerable, the victim,,,,,,,,,,& then I am very prone to become "carnal minded" myself & get "baited" in,,,,,,,,,,We cannot go about our Fathers Business without having the Full Armor of God in tact, the Shield of Faith & Sword of the Spirit held high!!!

We have a "report" button,,,,use it & be quiet, one person cannot argue by themselves,,,,,,,,,,,,,An unedifying Thread pops up,clearly bait for an argument, bump it off the main Board & find something Worthy to talk about instead of keeping it in the forefront by participation,,,,,,,,,,I look at it this way,,,,,,the enemy is relentless, one leaves & is quickly replaced with another obstinate "pot-stirrer",,,,,,this tells me that Worthy Ministries is truly Gods Blessed Place because the enemy just keeps trying to tear us apart,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,To God be the Glory, keep pressing forward & be accountable for yourselves, your "re-actions" or "responses",,,,,,they best approach is usually "zip-it!",,,,,,,,,bridle our tongues,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,seek Gods Will for you & what He would have us to do,,,,                   Love,Kwik

I did not choose one, because the one I would choose, honestly, isnt up there. I think that we are all guilty, either directly, or indirectly, of stirring up strife at some point or another.  Sometimes, its indirectly-we say something, and either dont take time enough to proof read it or someone misunderstands it, and takes it personally, and bam, world war 3 starts. It happens to the best of us. Other times, and this probably happens more so with some then others, but i think again, honestly, if we look back in our lives were all guilty of it at some point. And thats directly doing it, we get passionate about something, and someone says something that we see as "stupid" and we in no uncertain terms feel it is our right to prove what an idiot they are, and bam, there goes world war 4. Many of us grow past this stage, some of us slower then others, some not at all.

We also need to keep in perspective, no matter where you go, your going to find strife, and "troublemakers" no matter where you go. Im active in 2 other forums, a gun forum and a computer help forum, and even there, you see strife and dissent (though, the firearms forum, its rare, funny how that works out) I do see it moreso here, because people are passionate about their beliefs, but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen elsewhere. We need to remember that even though we are passionate about our beliefs we need to learn to phrase our wordings in such a way as to show Christs love, and learn to extend grace to others, because maybe they are just overly passionate about their beliefs.

There have been some whose primary objective was to sow spiritual confusion and strife.  We should always remember that Satan and his minions are out to cause divisions and strife whenever the Gospel or Bible truth is being presented, and use people for this purpose.  Some focus on ad hominem attacks rather than the issues.  In any issue, there comes a point where one must simply walk away.

Do you mean an internet troll? Troll   I am all for a healthy Christian debate. We have to know that their will be many opinions. People can not get upset if they want their opinion to be the only right opinion. Attacking others is just not acceptable. No obvious false teachings should be allowed.

What is obvious false teaching to one person, may not be to another though!............. There is a lot of Catholic bashing though. A lot.

while that may be true, if a teaching is false, it remains false regardless of who believes it. :D

Well, I dunno Patriot. My opinion is, but it is only my opinion of course. If the apostles believed it then it does matter. Well to me anyway it does :D

I agree-if the apostles believed it, and it was recorded in the original 66 books of the Bible, it is true, undeniably, true. Regardless of ones opinion of the matter. If anyone, be them catholic, JW, or whatever, presents a teaching that is contrary to what the Bible says, or even "different" then they are wrong.

With that said, you bring up a point, that they believe they are in the right, and are passionate about their beliefs, and their opinion is they are right. And they often, become militant to prove it. What we need to remind ourselves of, and im guilty of this, becoming militant back, isnt likely to show them their error-but rather reinforce their false beliefs.

Ah yes, We can all believe we are right, not just "they". Being militant can be associated with many things. It is possible (again only my opinion) One can be militant or even hypocritical about being what they consider "nice".

Kind of like a series I used to watch years ago. . Two doctors, one from a wealthy family seeing regular patients. the other from a poor family, struggling, and needing help to get through medical school, ran a free clinic part time. It actually had one episode where the poor doctor, was shown to be more prideful, and unbending and judgmental than she which worked with the regular paying patients. I will never forget that one episode. This effect can be true to life sometimes.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
