Now, we know that Jesus was NOT a ministry failure.   Obviously Jesus' ministry goes beyond His original earthly ministry and Jesus is still making disciples today.   The problem is that this article wants to make you feel guilty if gays don't come to your church and puts the blame on you for calling homosexuality a sin and not allowing gays to be comfortable in their sin. If you tell people the truth about sin and they are turned off, that is not a failure on your part.  That's the response of a hardened heart.                             posted by Shiloh

That is right,,,,,,it is all about God on "people's" terms......from wearing w4hat they are comfortable in to hearing what their itching ears wants to hear because anything else would make someone"uncomfortable" & it is true, most :churches" seem to be more interested in 'numbers" ,,,,quantity & not quality,,,,,,,,,,as long as the seats are filled  they will continue to avoid the whole Truth, nothing but the Truth,,,,,sad

I'm glad my little church does not function that way,the sermons are focused on the Word of God,it isn't always easy listening, you may have to take a long hard look at yourself as "sin" is often addressed,,,,,,,,,,,,this includes all of the hard TRUTH,,,,,,many visitors do not return, they are welcomed with open arms, they are always invited to leave their "old lives" at the altar & accept FREEDOM in Christ but not many are willing to forsake their sinful lifestyles,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Oh well, they are always welcome but we make no excuses for Gods Truth,,,,,,,

I suppose people need to wake up & understand by attending the "soft on sin" style of preaching they are supporting the whole numbers game,,,,,if they have come to Christ through one of those mega church Ministries,Praise Jesus, all well & good but there comes a time of maturity(hopefully) & then there comes many decisions,,,,,,,,one  of those decisions is to WALK THE WALK & THE WALK is not always comfortable, not always convenient, not always pleasant, gentle & soft,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but it is a matter of life & death, for ETERNITY        Love,Kwik

Our church welcomes all sinners, too.  I just think we have talked it to death.

This was not even an issue until the homosexual (tiny) vocal minority politicized this issue.  Their agenda was to promote sexual perversion aggressively, and unfortunately they found allies in the liberal homosexual clergy (who should have been made to resign).

So with Mr. Obama doing his utmost to ensure that the *rainbow* crowd gets more attention than anyone else, it is to be expected that questions about *acceptance* would come up.  The idea is that homosexuality should not be deemed a sin, but an acceptable lifestyle which should be adopted by everyone. As Scripture says "Seducers will wax worse and worse".

It is also noteworthy that all reporting on AIDS and HIV has been generally suppressed, since it would expose the fallacy and evil that really exists in sexual perversion.

Hmmm. It does seem to have been muted even in medical literature.

One thing that has happened, that not many here would have noticed, is that one can now donate blood if one is gay. The san francisco crowd managed to get it changed. Stupid stupid thing to do.

So you can get blood with HIV in it from a blood bank?

I edited my post since I couldnt find an article on it. But my understand, and my hubbys, from what we saw in the news, is that hiv infected people could donate blood.

They can now donate organs in california too, but only to hiv infected people.

Ah, I just did a quick search and I was able to find that late last year the FDA lifted its lifetime ban on gay men being allowed to donate blood, which was in effect for three decades. Evidently now it's based on another indicator, but there is still a loose restriction. (Not going into details on the forums about it).

I think it's accurate to just go ahead and assume that this is a topic that is not going to go away anytime soon, either on the forums, in chat, or in just every day life. There is a cultural shift that has taken place. Even if you go through all the members on worthy that have posted in threads or had discussions in chat about this in the past, every day new members join that may want to talk it through. We have to be prepared to engage people on topics such as this, because this is the sort of thing that affects people's every day lives. It's impossible to avoid it, basically, nor should we, I think, no matter how redundant it may get over time.

I would agree.

I would find it highly unlikely.  I remember when I had to have blood after the bleeding ulcer broke.  I was on my second unit when my friend came in the room.  Her first comment was "well I hope they didn't give you anything that will kill you"  It was the only funny thing that happened to me that day.  She is highly paranoid and believes anything she hears.  I love her to pieces but I would have to say she is not the brightest bulb in the six pack.  I would have a transfusion today if I needed it.  With all the checking they do now Steve I would be fairly sure there is no danger.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
