I am eager to hear something from people who love the Lord.

You have said something which speaks of the mystery of godliness - "the purpose of my being is to focus on Jesus" allowing self to be lost in love and admiration.

"The old self has passed away" Where was the new self before this began to happen?                                             posted by Kan

I was once a slave to sin and self centeredness.   At first it was a world of fear and loneliness;  then it was wanting to be different but being unable to change;  at some point I realized my inability to love others and my heart became full of self righteous loathing of people who didn't agree with me.  While I had turned from sin and asked God to forgive me, I was imprisoned by the idea that I had been given another chance to be good enough to go to heaven.  As I studied the Bible I learned that salvation is due to the faith God had given me-- trusting that Jesus had suffered and paid for my sins on the cross and believing that God had raised Him from the dead.  I can never achieve being "good enough".  Finally surrendering my life to His authority, I learned to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and to live by faith in God's word, the Bible.  This is when God started changing me more dramatically and making me to think and act more like Jesus.  Listening to that "check" within me is part of the way God guides me.  Keeping my focus on Jesus and His word is what my new life is all about--serving Him.

So I agree with all of the above statements of Cletus, Kwik, and Rusty.   The Bible talks about us being earthen vessels because, like a clay pot, we are made of the elements that come from the earth.  Well, I was a bit of a crackpot and not good for much.  So God started reworking me and enabling me to hold what He placed into me, which turned out to be nothing of value by human standards, but great treasures by God's standards--the power of the Love, eternal Life, and Light of Jesus Christ.  2Co 4:7  WEB "But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves."

The basics in the light of God's Word foundations us to understandings that are not of this world nor can be...
I will use myself so as no offense:
There are two Stevens the first one born naturally through the womb of water was born dead into a world
that is dead... I could recognize good and evil but I could only in the narrowed sense of self being the first
priority. I was brought to the realization of what I was by the Word of God and understood / given sight /
made to know that what I needed I did not possess. Here is where I called out to Jesus to save me.... the
second Steven begins by The Will of God for The Glory of God...

For awhile I searched in wrong places due to the overwhelming aspect of first born realities and that was
all that I had ever known. It was here in this search that I came to the truth -His Word- is the meal of faith
and I must render all of myself /to/ it's structure by faith formed from it! Hence a nearly starved to uselessness
for God I began to grow. As I look back I am amazed at God's ability to be there yet by me totally unaware of
His presence and till we draw near to His Word and make it the importance -due to- It is His design to deliver us
from this place we are in! When we are in the right priorities, as all His Children should be, we hear Him through
His Precious Living Word-> which the written Word and The Holy Spirit produce and we receive living realities
more satisfying than all else that is known, His presence in our lives validated s/Spiritually...

Your post screams of the need to examine-> to be of an assurance that He 'IS' within our lives... God's Word
assures us that God desires this for every child of Adam throughout all time without respect of person!
When one puts forth the list of all God has done since the slaying of the animal to cover their shame in sin...
The conclusion can only be epitome of The Cross that God placed Himself upon to say yes, but more, show
His love, of which, He wants us to be of the same!!! We will suffer here for this Love we are to become (however)
what else is there to do when one is revealed to It's substance as the only substance that exists in truth ? ! ?
Draw back to a fake love that only gives to receive? Draw back because it is to painful to the first born elements
that God is not keeping? Draw back? Once the Love 'IS' invested within our b/Being we cannot draw back because
there is nothing to go back to...   Love offered without accounting for it comes from and endless source...
Steven

Here you have shown that you know that Supreme Love is what counts Steven in. It counted him in before he was born, it was confirmed at the cross, and at your birth, and at you day of recognition of the name of Jesus in salvation, and will be confirmed by a life of faith, until heaven.

So are there two Stevens or one?

If there are two, one of them is authentic no?

And if the other is fake, there can only be one.

Who does God address when He says "I know you not" on the judgement day?

How is it possible for God not to know? Is it a figure of speech or a lie? Or is it true that God can not know something?

These are all things which happened to you, and can happen to others, a new life in Christ. But who is "I" ?

Do you have a specific identity or are you just what we see in this world? Or is it both?

This "new creature in Christ" where did it start and where does it end, and what part of this life has anything to do with it?

That's interesting, so there is the Eternal Guide in you.

Is He delivering a blueprint?

And is so what is it? Is it you as you were born or someone else?

No it is not how I was born. I am a totally different person 10 or 20 years ago than I am now. I believe it is the Holy Spirit which is leading me. It has been a gradual process from the time I have recieved Christ.

So a child was born called bopeep, what did it have that still exists today, we are talking about character...

or is nothing left of who you were born?

A totally different person today?

So you believe your behaviours and thinking have changed dramatically, no doubt they have, but doesn't that happen with maturity, even with unbelievers?

Now I am to reckon the 1st born Steven dead yet the war seems real enough within... when death occurs for him
Life will be his absence and the full blown reality of Jesus before the second Steven in a dumbfounded awe.... :D

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
