Yes, you should talk to the Sunday School leader (or the teacher who brought up politics).  You should let him know that Sunday School is meant to focus on Scripture, not politics.  The principles from Scripture can be presented, but speaking about particular candidates is not acceptable.

Sunday School is no place to debate politics, and they have no right saying that one is better then the other, at least  not in Sunday School class.  Outside of class yes, but not inside of class.

Thank you all for your advice and thoughts on this issue. I think I will go back this coming Sunday and if this comes up again I hope to find the right words to put a stop to it.  Well we will see how that goes.

All you need is a placard which says "NO POLITICS ON SUNDAY". :)

Update Well Sort Of:

Okay so I attending the Sunday School class today. Sure enough the teacher started in with the political argument once more. Seeing that I was becoming annoyed with it she looked at me and told me not to be mad at her. I calmly said" I am not mad. But I do not think that this stuff should be talked about in Sunday School." To which she said "yes it is right that we talk about this stuff here." Which I thought would be her reaction. 

After Sunday School another women who was in the class with me told that she agreed with me telling the teacher that we shouldn't be talking this political stuff in Sunday School. So anyway that is what went on.

It appears that the majority of the class is either too apathetic to take a stand with you, OR disagrees with you.  Withdrawing from the class might get someone's attention, and if someone reaches out to you (such as a minister) you might make it clear that you believe Sunday School class is for the express purpose of teaching Scripture and not political debate.  If they agree with you then you need to make it bluntly known that isn't happening in that class.  If they don't agree with you then I'd seek Christian fellowship and edification elsewhere.

If Biblical moral and spiritual principles are being clearly taught then there would be no political debate in a class...it wouldn't be needed.

Ms muffet, I agree. Our classes haven't touched on the election but the fellowship lunch afterwards has! Comparing evil kings to current administration's and Israel's history of obeying and rebelling... Makes for a great lunch talk! And just makes us trust God and His plan all the more!?

Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
