So, your wife has MS and she's feeling bad and you go to church....   she falls and hurts herself but can't reach you at church......     yeah....  real good idea.

An emergency land line on the church premises should resolve that issue.

There are many aspect to this situation.  To get young people to stay in the church, some leeway is given to them as the fear of parents and church administrator of loosing them or for then not to get bored.  Another is some pastors are using tablets and large screens are used to display text and video, so congregations are getting more comfortable using their gadgets within the service.

As you are a young person, you may hear the term " there is no perfect church", meaning every church you attend, there will always be some issues that may bug you and it will always be so, after all, you are dealing with humans here [ some can be stubborn ].

Also, there are situations where there may be genuine situations where, people come from afar and with the cities especially and traffic, and construction, one may always be late.  Also, not everyone who attends church may not be a worshiper as such, but is there for the sunday service and life goes on.

But you are correct, in that when you  go to worship, and those doors close, the world should be left behind and your focus should be on who you came to give that time and worship.  People who came to be noticed, there is not much you can do about that.  The pastor should time to time, preach a topical message on  the reverence for God  and to remind everyone what the house of God is .   Remember the Ark of the covenant and the priesthood.

Point taken....Well said....

still someone has to monitor it and come in to disrupt things to get me.....   and a simple silencing the phone does the same...

folks that use their phoned during church are the ones who would set there with their minds wondering not listening anyway.   I have a cousin that puts a Bible cover on whatever she's reading that day and reads books during church.....   folks just think she's reading the bible.

The phone isn't the problem here is what I'm getting at.

The so called house of God is just a building.   The only part of God that is at a service is that which each individual brings for Gods temple now resides within each of us through the Holy Spirit.    If you are going to have God in your service, you have to bring Him with you.   And that is the case of going to some big cathedral type building or someone's house for home church.  Those people who come to be noticed bring nothing with them and should just be ignored.   As should people doing non essential things with phones.     But you shouldn't ban phones or tablets just because you think people are not paying attention.

While i understand your message above, we have to have utmost respect for the place of worship, even though the person entering there just came in to listen or as a non-regular attendee.   When you go to court, you obey the judge, and if not you are fined or thrown out.  In a church service, it is reverence for the God that you came to worship that must be foremost in your mind and the rest will follow.

If people want to play with their phones at church, they might as well stay home, as they are distracted and they distract others, it is just a human phenomenon to be distracted by things that are annoying.  Just put the phone on vibrate and leave it there, no need to be fidgeting with the thing all the time, it shows lack of self control and also lack of respect for the pastor.  You go on an airplane and you are told to turn off your phone, and you should, same should apply to phones. Or you should take the very back seats.  The priest entering the Ark of the covenant is where a lesson should be taken.  The house of God is just a building, but it is also symbolic of the place where people gather to meet and honor their God in numbers and it should be very much respected and yes some rules set in place for anyone coming in to obey.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
