You know this and that is why you apologized. I apologized not because I was wrong, (I capped 4 words in a longer post) but apologized in the spirit of unity and peace. 11 minutes ago, soonsister said: I'd suggest you cease speaking to me. I'm here to learn and that does not entail tolerating those opposed to Christ or the gospels. And certainly it does not entail being assaulted by those not in the spirit of Christ Thank you for not assaulting me. The Scripture you reference (Heb 1:8) is a direct quotation of Psalm 45:6 in which the word used for God is "elohim". Need I say more? To do so would be giving you a bigger knife, endangering more furniture and people. Yes, but the writer of Hebrews applies it to Jesus to demonstrate that Jesus is greater than the angels. So, Yes, God explictly refers to His Son, Jesus, as God, like it or not.

Hey, doesn't Scripture say someday we will be greater than the angels....oops!

Jesus was not created, the angels were. It's not the being higher than the angels makes Him God. He is higher than the angels because He is God. While I agree Hebrews makes Jesus greater than the angels and to be clear; I believe this to be true. But Hebrews is not claiming 'Jesus is God' as you understand it. Guest shiloh357
Just now, Zach said: While I agree Hebrews makes Jesus greater than the angels and to be clear; I believe this to be true. But Hebrews is not claiming 'Jesus is God' as you understand it. Yes it is. Jesus is called God, and He is the Creator in Heb. 1:1-3. So yeah, there are not multiple ways to refer to someone as God. Jesus is YHVH, like it or not.
