I saw a recent post talking about 8 things Christians need to stop doing. A good read . what do you think.

1) expecting non Christians to live like Christians. We have rhe holy spirit enabling us to live a holy life. They donr so they wont.Putting our morals on them will turn them off from the gospel .we should instead use it to witness.

2)swearing in text speak words like OM... It may seem harmless but w'ere really calling his name in vain.

3)thinking we can't read the Bible everyday.

4) not bothering to witness.

5)gossiping especially about other Christians and their issues eg prayer requests.

6)publicly disrespecting politicians on social media. We are commanded to eespect our leaders despite our opinions on them.Reference was made to how some Christians blasted Obama when he got in and compared the us govt to the roman empire. Which btw slaughtered christisns. Even now in peoples blasting of trump.

7)expecting well be popular to the world. Wewon't. Jesus himself said it will hate us as it hated him.

8)using elements if other religions in our lives eg yogawhich is linked to Hindu worship.

What do u think

The list varies group to group.

Devour SCRIPTURE and see what the CREATOR says,  HIS list never changes. (and is mostly unknown and not honored).

But as HIS WORD says, HONORING HIS WORD leads to LIFE, and to LIFE ABUNDANTLY.  (i.e. is very very good to do) .

9. Writing up 'shouldn't do lists'. LoL

Really ?

I think the first such list is found in GENESIS , EXODUS,  LEVITICUS, NUMBERS and DEUTERONOMY,

and

JESUS verified this when HE was asked.

I am learning that non believers are a hard bunch to talk with on issues of God. We would think they, like us as we were before non believers, could see the peril of their sins, thinking they would come to repentance more now as things are getting so obvious we are in the last days, but they don't.... And I'm not upset they can't see the deceit, I mourn in my heart for them because the Bible tells us, many will fall away.... It's very tragic.

Obama has been a learning experience with my trying not to voice my opinion on a nasty way and I've had friends rebuke me once in a while, so I ask forgiveness for him and me but I gotta say, I'm glad Trump won!

1. Quit expecting the "world" to like you.

2. Quit saying that repentance is not necessary.

3. Stop saying "luck". Jesus has nothing to do with luck.

4. Quit being more passionate about your political afflictions than your relationship with Christ.

5. Stop beating people over the head to get them to become a Christian.

6. Stop acting like you are better than the unbeliever. Because you are not.

7. Quit being unkind.

8. Stop defending sin.

To name a few :)

I agree with most of that but have a problem with point 6. We are called to respect our leaders bot not their antichristian attitudes.

Amen Creative ,

They're all good points  , also I would add that we should ask God to fill us with His Holy Spirit to discern what we should do, as Christians He wrote the law in our heart and how more in tune we are with Him, How more we will be able to do His will, don't you think?

While I think that the OP and other responding posts are good ides, in general, I don't like the idea

of lists of things that we should and shouldn't do.... it's rather redundant to most adults and those

that have even a "beginners" walk in the Lord. The Bible is replete with things we should and shouldn't

do.

Our walk with Christ is dynamic and ever-changing. We also start that walk at different starting points.

Sanctification is a process of growth and it's experiential... meaning that we're bound to make mistakes

and missteps along the way. We will often be stuck in some areas that God wants us to grow out of and

even be grieved by. Other areas we will excel at and often center a lot of our focus on while missing out

on observing other areas that we could expand our spiritual boarders on.

Like with any human endeavor, we should be encouraged to try new things or experiment on certain aspects

of things that we're already familiar with. Trying and making mistake/missteps is all part of learning... it's

called learning through experience.

So I say, be familiar with the Word of God, understand His general Will for our lives and go out and experience

Life. With Christ there is freedom...

Gal. 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
