Very simple post. I finally understand what life is about.

Service. Love. Giving. Giving. Giving.

Taking eyes off myself, and putting them on others. Serving others. Loving others. Giving of myself for the sake of others. THAT is the purpose of our lives...service to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ...giving of self.

But even more so...the purpose is LOVING others as God loves. The purpose of living...is to SERVE OTHERS, not GLORIFY SELF.

To state that...means that when we give and serve others, God will take care of our own needs. I think I understand now.

Serve not to be served. we are to live by his example. Amen to your discovery.

John 13:4-9

so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”

Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”

“No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”

Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”

“Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”

Isaiah 58:10

If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.

1 John 3:17-18

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

It is even simplified more by the understanding that God is inexhaustible, without begin or end and giving to that which He began -His activity- without end toward that begin! Thus we were created in that image and can accomplish in s/Spirit the image we are when born again of God... If of flesh we meter giving because of natural resource however If of s/Spirit that meter then goes away... Love, Steven

no.  One can give, serve, love, but:

Matthew 22

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

Isaiah 43:7

everyone who is called by my name,

whom I created for my glory,

whom I formed and made.”

We are created for God's glory.

To know Him.

If we align our will with His, then yes, we of course love and serve others:

Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness,

Amen and amen. Thank you, Jesus for speaking so clearly to our friend. When you cross that invisible threshold where you are fulfilled by serving and ministering to others, it is a special place...almost like another dimension of existence. You are now entering the Miracle Zone, where God, because of your obedience will begin to do things far beyond anything you have imagined.

Blessings my friend, keep in touch, we all need a testimony from time to time

You must be some kind of special there Sight. Usually they say it takes a lifetime to figure out what life is all about.

I think it is about living and learning. Give without thinking of reward back. I don't think selflessness is the whole of it because I have to survive myself in order to live well. The more I have the more I have to give others in need. Ya know?

Welcome to this site. I'm also new here. Maybe we can learn from each other and find out together what life is all about.

Peace,

Lemur

If that's your take on what life is about sounds good to me. You sound like you'll be a benefit to society as a giver. And we are known by our works in the name of our faith aren't we? Blessings on your way. I'm new too so hello.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
