That's not it. Look past the womb in ministry issue. She was offered many minitry opportunities but declined and when not allowed to preach, got irate and said nothing for women to do.

Regardless of your  view on women in ministry, the point is this -we often can want the prestigious up front jobs and not want the less glorious. Thats the  wrong attitude. Service to God is not about prestige  ,it's about submission to what needs to be done.

I could see what you were referring to... not sure why others missed it.

Regardless, "June" has a problem and it's a tough one to figure out how to help her with it.

Firstly, she needs to recognize that the problem is her own and nobody is in the position to

"parent her along" in life. Helping the church be a Body unified should be all of the congregants

role. Also, the Deacon could use some help in working to encourage people into the positions that

he needs filled... recruiting help is supposed to be in his repertoire of skills.

Granted, it's a hypothetical situation, but I could see where this could be a problem in a church body.

So now the Deacon has something to preach on next week...

I find this situation funny and ironic.  If you not willing to teach Sunday's school or help with youth group, why should we put you onstage to preach.

That's  like expecting to be a manager when you first get a job.  As an older man once pointed out to me-people will want to do fancy things like dvbs and work at once a year grand events but not realise the importance of the" smaller jobs".  If your  attitude  is in the right place then you'd realise that your probably make more of an impact working each week at Sunday school or youth group than preaching 2 or 3 times a year.

Sometimes people are physically limited in what they are able to do so they sound like they are being picky.  But anyone who could preach from the pulpit should be able to help with a Bible study.  I have found that most pastors gladly lead in painting, fixing and cleaning when necessary.  They are servants first, and don't ask people to do what they wouldn't do.  Often these things are pleasant relief from the heavy burden of counseling.

I agree with creative mechanic. College grads expect to be placed immediately in a position they had studied for but are often place in a beginning position.  This is especially true if they had no work experience while in high school or college.  People who have consistently shown up for work at menial jobs are more readily hired.

Mat 25:23  His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

There are a number of positions that is appropriate for the woman to hold in the church that have been put before them. Maybe they think those positions are beneath them. The Bible teaches that a woman should not take the position of a pastor in the Church. People are not obedient to what the Bible teaches us. They just want to do their own thing.

This coukd have easily been a man asking to preach

And the men of the Church are capable as well of doing those jobs that have been put before the women. If any of the women decline the work then when they come back asking for work in the Church they will need to be reminded that they turned it down.

Actually, when the two are combined, that is the focus, if you look at the history of threads here, so it was not a knee jerk reaction as it was about not having any more infighting.

I don't think it is so much people not being obedient to the Bible. But people have a  different interpretation as to the meaning of the passage of scripture.

Anyway, I've gone over all of this is past postings on this topic. I don't have the energy to do it all over again.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
