I am all for the anti-Sha'ria rallies and, if one is close enough to me, I will attend.  The islamists are complaining that the rallies are discriminatory and fueled by hate but we can't overlook one important fact.  The rallies are against  SHA'RIA LAWS, not against their so called 'religion'.  They are trying to muddy the waters and appear to be victims but, as the article states, antimuslim sentiment is growing in the U.S. so maybe muslims need to note this and take steps to integrate before violence does occur.  I believe the onus is on them.  The ironic thing is that in their home countries they have no freedom whatsoever so why do they not value the lives they have here?

Really? An anti-Sha'ria rally?  Good for you, wingnut.  You'll need to tell us all about it.

I don't understand. Could you explain what the reason is for these rallies? Thank You.

It helps to read the news story.  Here's the reasoning behind the rallies:

The group organizing the rallies, ACT for America, has chapters around the country and says it is focused on fighting terrorism and promoting national security. It says it condemns bias against religious groups and is "proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with peaceful Western Muslims as well as peaceful Muslims worldwide."

Yet many Muslims and others say the group promotes a distorted and prejudiced view of Islam.

ACT for America activists portray Shariah as largely incompatible with American democracy and often warn of a stealth effort to replace U.S. law with Islamic law."

I will go too, if one is near my area.   As Muslim population gets larger, they will grow louder and louder in their call for Sharia Law to be implemented in the US.

If these people want to live under Sharia law, then leave the US and go to a country that has Sharia law.   Those who want Sharia law in the US are not needed here, are not wanted here and do not belong.   Those who actively seek to get it implemented should be deported from the US.  We have a Constitution and to attempt to overthrow our Constitution is an attempt to overthrow our government and that is, by law, sedition.

Yes, in Southfield, MI at noon today.  This all started over an incident in Detroit where a doctor mutilated two young girls, he is facing criminal charges.  The city of Dearborn has wrongfully been linked to this incident because of its large population of Arab-Americans, but the actual group behind the move to enact Sharia law in this state stems from Hamtramck.  An area that was once known for its high population of Polish immigrants that has now shifted to an Arabic area and is touted as the first american city to contain a majority of Muslims on the city council.

To keep Sharia law out of the state of Michigan, it is in large part a rally to show the lawmakers in Lansing that the residents of Michigan intend to remain under Constitutional law, not foreign law.

If I may, I think that what you do not understand is that Islam is as much a political movement as it is a religion.  You have to see it as both to understand.  If you do not see it as both, you will not understand.

The First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees freedom of religion to all citizens.  Individual Muslims can and should be able to observe and practice their religion without interference from the Government.  No more nor  less than individual Jews, Christians, Sikhs or Hindus.

So that hopefully addresses one aspect of your concern.

The USA however has a history of taking a dim view of POLITICAL MOVEMENTS (of which Islam has a component called sharia) which seek to undermine or usurp the laws as written by our legislatures and under the Constitution.  We fought a Civil War over it in the 1860s.

More recently, Nazis and Communists came under government scrutiny.  These groups were seen as a threat to our way of life and more importantly to our stability.  You simply cannot have two sets of laws in a SECULAR society.

You may not agree - but Islam IS a political movement.  It (as a political movement) simply is NOT compatible with a Constitutional Republic.  So these 'rallies' (as long as they remain peaceful) ARE perfectly justified and to be expected.

No one of good will thinks that Muslims should not be allowed to practice their religion.

But no one who is sane thinks that they should be able to impose 'sharia' and not encounter resistance.  And if 'Muslim leaders' are offended by this, well that's too bad.  Perhaps then they should focus their attention and ire to their own house.

Clean it up - root out the individuals causing problems - then we can all live in peace.

Blessings,

-Ed

The problem is that you can't separate the religion out of islam. When you try and do that, you no longer have Islam.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
