Amen, Suzanne.

As soon as I saw the commercial, I knew it was blasphemy and would have nothing to do with it. Ditto what Suzanne said. JMO.

I reluctantly watched the very beginning of the movie and very quickly became disgusted and turned it off. I'm sorry but it's not just a movie and it's not just for entertainment. It is a tool of the devil to mock God and christians who think otherwise should reexamine themselves.

Suzanne, I agree with you. I bet God would think it is disgusting as well.

Friend of mine tried to convince me to watch it.... but I was cautious about it.

Then, someone actually told me what was in it....I was so thankful I did not watch it.

So many people have said that it is so good.......but.......I do think it is blasphemous.......I mean.....think of the title! That's enough to turn anyone away from it instantly!

I saw the movie before I became a Christian; it wasn't the greatest movie in the world..you're not missing much. But looking back, I am not sure if it is something that we as Christians would look at and think was amusing. We understand and know God's Word, making it hard to be "entertained" by a movie almost poking fun at Him (not really..but in a sense). It does shed light on God and how he is our creator It. shows people praying..."God" or Jim Carey, checks his emails at night and he has like 1,000,000 new emails, or prayers. Jim Carey answered everyones prayers just how they wanted, causing chaos in the world. You know like I know, God knows whats best for us...that's why many times he doesn't answer our prayers like we want Him too. But, back to the movie...Carey answers them however they would like..and everything becomes kind of crazy..if I am correct. I saw it about two years ago. There could be worse things to watch...but it kind of demeans our God and His awesome power. But, while we are on the subject, has anyone seen the movie "Saved?" It has Mandy Moore in it? I saw the previews for it last year, and I was offended by some of the things they said in the interview. They portrayed Christianity as almost like a big joke.

I saw it.  It was what I expected to see: pure mockery of God.

I did not see the movie, for the same reasons as most of you did not.

But, I thought I'd throw in the counter-argument.

There is a message to the movie.

Carey's character is mad at God for not answering his prayers, for allowing people to get away with evil deeds, etc. - basically the typical, "I could do better than You, God!"

So, God takes him up on the challenge and grants him the opportunity to "be God."

Carey's character proceeds to "play" with his new power and uses it for his own selfish ends.

By the time period is over, he managed to make a complete wreck out of his life and others'.

When God comes to him again, God asks him (paraphrase), "So, what did you do with My power? Who did you help? How have you made the world a better place?"

Carey's character repents of his attitude and actions and learns to submit to God.

Again, I have objections with the delivery, but I have heard that for some who are/were not Christians, the message got to them.

Strange, huh?

I once heard from a cousin once removed, who had heard it form his friends, friend who heard it from her aunt's pastor who heard it from his great grandfather who heard it from .....

Well basically what they heard was.

God works in mysterious ways.

My husband and I saw the movie. On a worldly level, we were entertained, but I can see clearly a lot of things that would upset Christians. There were things in there that changed who God is.

Honestly though, can you expect any thing from Hollywood, any fiction, to properly display who God is? Anyone watch that tv show Joan of Arcadia? Ive heard Christians elsewhere praise that show, yet I find it degrades who the Lord is.

For those who think mocking God is funny consider this:

Ga 6:7  Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
And:
Eph 5:6  Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
And when the scoffers come:
2Pe 3:3

I don't think mocking God is funny. Not at all. But I just thought it was a funny movie is all. Yes, knowing it was about God was probably offensive to some. I'm sorry if I offended anyone by posting this topic. I just thought it would be a good discussion topic. Now y'all want to know what movie I found really offensive?

Little Nicky with Adam Sandler

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
