I haven't had a witch or demon come by for candy in a few years.....   mostly the frozen stuff and zombies for the darker side.....     we usually have very small children with their parents and the parents aren't dressed up....    I used to have a problem with it, but we pray over all the kids that come by for their protection.    And here it's mostly neighborhood kids that we know.

Well no parent I know about ever lets their kid(s) go out alone at anytime never mind go door to door unescorted by them. Most around here have parties at home or go to the mall with their parents where merchants give out free treats.

The parents that I  do get to talk with ask us old people,  how was it back  in antiquity when we had young kids? At what age would we ever let our kids out of our sight? They are all helicopter parents, all their kid's activities are tightly supervised. To play with another kid requires the parents making a play date, with the parents  of each knowing each other well and understanding what their kid will be doing as play.

Fortunately for y'all I'll only make two (2) comments this time. You can show your appreciation and thank me for my brevity and no soap box by a thumbs up ?

1. I moved so far into the country sun light is piped to me and my kids are long out of the nest, so I'll never have to make that decision again whether to hand out candy at the door or let the kids go.

2. Our Christmas and Easter holidays originated as Pagan holidays also, according to the research I've done.

See, it's painful, but occasionally I can be brief.

To me, all about worship of evil. Bad news. It worries me as dark forces have lulled people into taking part in such misguidedness.

As a Christian what is your position?

Melinda, if Christian parents reject the dark side and just leave it to children collecting candy for fun, it's harmless. That all being said, don't let your children dress in anything that agrees with Satan.

The following verse helps me to have a better understanding of those, these kinds of subjects. :)

1Co_8:4  As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.

the rest of the story.

1 Cor 10:19-21
What do I mean then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers in demons.  NASB  I personally do not eat fool sacrificed to idols....   I don't even buy halal food for it has been dedicated to Allah which in my personal view may well be satan himself.

But I really don't think little kids trick or treating ties them to the demonic world.      And for a lot of low income families it's the only time they get treats like this.

It ties children to the Demonic if the parents are not Christian.

If you actually meant tne last statement, you would not have posted this:

You are right in the fact that I said "Thats' all I think about it anyway".   In context though, it was a direct reply to Ladykay as to her fears of being attacked for her statement.   I am still free to post what I think generally about the topic and will do so, even if you think that it may be on the legalistic side. Nevertheless, I don't see this as even a holiday as such, but a deceptive plan of the unseen foe of man to deceive and overwhelm them with clever schemes of so called fun and fantasy.    It is becoming as big a celebration as Christmas and even believers are falling for the false illusion that is being presented.   Again it's everyone prerogative to do as they please, its' a fact I note. Nothing wrong with admonition and to heed scripture about the unfruitful works of darkness, which that event it centered on.

I would disagree with that.   If we were discussing cartoons I might agree with you.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
