Just sharing some messages from a Christian email list I'm on

Letter from an Atheist

This is an excerpt of an e-mail to Ray Comfort (thewayofthemaster.com)from an atheist.

"You are really convinced that you've got all the answers. You've really got yourself tricked into believing that you're 100% right. Well, let me tell you just one thing. Do you consider yourself to be compassionate of other human beings? If you're right, as you say you are, and you believe that, then how can you sleep at night? When you speak with me, you are speaking with someone you believe is walking directly into eternal damnation, into an endless onslaught of horrendous pain which your "loving" god created, yet you stand by and do nothing.

If you believed one bit that thousands everyday were falling into an eternal and unchangeable fate, you should be running the streets mad with rage at their blindness. That's equivalent to standing on a street corner and watching every person that passes you walk blindly into the path of a bus and die, yet you stand idly by and do nothing. You're just twiddling your thumbs, happy in the knowledge that one day that "walk signal" will shine your way across the road.

Think about it. Imagine the horrors Hell must have in store if the Bible is true. You're just going to allow that to happen and not care about saving anyone but yourself? If you're right, then you're an uncaring, unemotional and purely selfish (expletive) that has no right to talk about subjects such as love and caring."

And when we do care, and speak out, they condemn us for forcing our beliefs onto them.

I can talk to them, but there is only so much I can do. Yes I want to save them from themselves, but if someone is determined to jump into the fire, I cant stop them, no matter how hard I try.

All we can do is pray, and speak out. I am the first to admit that I do not speak out as I should in real life. Im dreadfully shy in real life. (No snickering, I really am.) I have never been trained to speak out. I wish I had some sort of evangelist type class to teach me what I need to go out and approach people. Perhaps the problem is more with me. Do I follow His leadings when Im in the public? Do I trust in Him to go out and talk to others? Seems pretty sad that I do not speak out to everyone.

I believe God sets up devine appointments for us in this matter. Different people relate to certain types of people better than others. If we went around like a madman spewing turn or burn the chances of our effectiveness would be severely diminished along with future meetings with the recipients.

I have found that there are a few certain types of people who would listen to me but not listen to pastor joe. There is a voicethat seems to tell me when it's time to speak. My biggest problem is getting out there and being in a place that matters.

That's the first thing I thought, too.

I think there is a danger here in letting stuff like this put us on a guilt trip to where we think we have to grab every person we meet and tell them about Jesus. Yes, many of us need a wake-up call and we need to be opening our mouths more, but I think it really comes down to the leading of the Holy Spirit. I think there is a time to speak and a time to keep silent. The Lord gave me this example:

Luke 5:1-11: "One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, with the people crowding around him and listening to the word of God, he saw at the water

Self-styled "atheists" belong essentially to Jurassic Park Wing of Modern Society in that they protest they know not what. They've never yet travelled on a vital Atheist Intergalactic Investigative Odyssey to every portion of the universe in order to ascertain whether or not the Creator-God exists there, yet they would "assure" us a Creator-God doesn't exist! "Atheism" is well done. You can surely stick a fork in it. Having said that, Christian believers have their firm Marching Orders from the Saviour/Creator-God, Jesus Christ, in Matthew 28:18-20. No part of it has ever been rescinded. LET US ALL HEAR THE CALL TO BATTLE!

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You would ever count us worthy!

I think that it's really disingenuous, and quite stupid honestly, to say that Christians have failed in warning the fallen world of its impending doom. Who is this atheist that he should judge the veracity of the message by the method in which it is delivered? Apparently he has heard the message, yet he has chosen to ignore it! What is HIS excuse?

The effectiveness of the message to bring repentance has nothing whatever to do with the manner in which it is received. We could preach from the mountaintops with bullhorns but it would do absolutely no good if those that we are preaching to refuse to receive it.

Those in Noah's day thought he was foolish for believing in God's judgment. And they didn't just have Noah's message to believe, but they watched the conviction of it displayed in an ark that took roughly 120 years to build! Yet they refused to believe anyway!

I think there are many of us just like this Ayin Jade. I know that I'm generally shy as they come. Internet talking is a bit easier I think is a bit easier even though that took me quite awhile to. I will mention God or Jesus comfortably when conversing with, my kids friends parents at the base ball game, kinda thing. But I notice I don't ask what they believe. I don't tell them that Jesus is the only way. Instead I tell them "God sure has blessed us with beautiful weather for the game". Haven't had anyone complain about a comment like that yet.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
