Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't eat and drink if you don't buy or sell?

Matt 24:36-41 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, f but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

Rev 13:11-17 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people. 14Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.

Well there will be those.. Probably the vast majority of the world who will have taken the mark of the beast and will be buying and selling and eating and drinking in the days leading up to the day of the LORD...

I hope i got the question right..  You did not really put forward a detailed question..

Also people who cannot buy or sell can beg or eat out of trash cans or go into the wilderness and hunt for food and gather and fish..

Unless these events...

7 The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood. a A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

...coincide with the beginning of sorrows.

Possibly one good reason for the mark in the first place. All the green grass is gone, a third of the fish dead, bitter water. Won't be much to forage.

I agree, though I don't understand the argument.

It appears to me to be a desire for clarity in which there are seemingly conflicting events within the same time period.

If there is a requirement to have the mark of the beast to buy and sell (Rev 13:11-17, which seems to be a time of sorrow, devastation, and forced submission due to "Possibly one good reason for the mark in the first place. All the green grass is gone, a third of the fish dead, bitter water. Won't be much to forage." ), it would seem ill-timed to have a period of eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage (Matt 24:36-41, which seems to be a carefree time of joy and exuberance)?

1. "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be" describing a future event
2. I believe "the ark" represents rapture
3. "That is how it will be" describing a future event

37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming (parousia) of the Son of Man.

38For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;

39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming (parousia) of the Son of Man.

Rapture is our blessed hope...

1 Thess 2:19 For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes (parousia)? Is it not you?

1 Thess 4:13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.

1 Thess 5:8-11 But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. 9For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. 10He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. 11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

1 Thess 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming (parousia) of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The day is drawing near, so as to encourage one another...

Matt 24:32-35 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. 34Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

1 Thess 4:18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Heb 10:25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching (eggizó).

James 5:7-8 Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains. 8You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming (parousia) is near (eggizó). 9Don’t grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. The Judge is standing at the door!

Eph 2:3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh a and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest (loipos), we were by nature deserving of wrath.

Eph 4:30 And do not grieve (lupeó) the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

1 Thess 4:13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve (lupeó) like the rest (loipos) of mankind, who have no hope.

1 Thess 5:6 So then, let us not be like others (loipos), who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.

Shalom, "Heb 13:8."

The only thing meant in Matthew 24 is that "life will be going on as usual" when the Son of man returns. Just as in the sudden, unheralded upheaval in the global Flood of Noach's day, there shall be NO warning signals, NO telltale signs to portend that the event is about to occur.

It has NOTHING to do with Revelation 13:17. Matthew 24:38 simply and unfortunately uses similar wording that people have MISTAKEN as being related!

It's similar to thinking that the "without form and void" of Jeremiah 4:23 has anything to do with Genesis 1:2! It's simply that both passages use similar wording that some people (who fail to research what is actually being said in the text) MISTAKENLY equate as identical.

These mistakes are similar to the misinterpretation of Yeshua`s parables. Parables are stories used as literary symbols meant to convey a particular point. Going beyond that point the author was trying to make is putting words in the author's mouth without the author's endorsement and without the author's permission!

It's also like taking the object lesson of a parable OUTSIDE of the parable in which it was delivered to apply it to other parables or passages of Scripture as though it was a universal symbol that is true in EVERY instance. Literary symbols, such as the object lessons in parables, should NOT be used universally as though they took on a life of their own outside of the parable in which they were presented. Once the parable is ended, the life of that object lesson should also end. A case in point is the word "leaven." Within Yeshua`s parabolic warning to His disciples to "beware of the leaven of the Pharisees," the word is talking about false teaching blown out of proportion of the original good teachings of the Bible. Some just say that the "leaven" is a "type of sin."

HOWEVER, to apply the equation "leaven = sin" to all instances is wrong. In the case where the "Kingdom from the sky" ("kingdom of heaven") is likened to "leaven hidden in three measures of meal," it's WRONG to say that this "leaven" is a "type of sin!" Really? The "kingdom of heaven" is a "type of sin?!" What a problem THAT scenario presents!

A good rule to follow is "exegesis"; that is, let the Scriptures speak for themselves. Don't try to add words to the Scriptures for that will only serve to get one into trouble. Never "read into the Scriptures" what you THINK they should be saying; instead, learn to LISTEN to what the author of the Scriptures has to say, and try to do so without bias.

Simple answer: Matthew 24 speaks of events pre-Rapture up to and including Rapture. The Noah's flood typology Jesus used was pre-flood up to flood.

Rev. 13 speaks of events post-Rapture.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
