I noticed some at another message board are reading through the Bible at 4 chapters a day since January and expect to finish in October.

You can finish in under a year by reading 4 chapters per day.

I usually take the number of pages in my Bible and divide it by the number of days I am targeting.  I find chapter lengths vary a lot and I prefer have similar amounts of reading each day.   I just read my pages and then stop at a natural paragraph or section break on the next page.   For example, I have one Bible that is about 1200 pages.  If I was targeting finishing in one year, that works out to about 3.3 pages per day, so I'd just read 4 pages per day.  That gives me plenty of leeway for those times when my reading gets disrupted.

They were figuring it would take about 10 months.  I wasn't a member at Narrow Way Forums in January, so I didn't get in on it, but I have read the Bible through many times.

I have participated in bible studies which discusses a summary of portions of the bible.

If I would plan to set a goal to read the bible completely, an suggestions?  Certain version preferred. Read straight from front to back or follow a reading plan for a method?

Select a version that you can understand, use biblegateway's many, many on line versions to decide which version.

Then follow what coldcasechristianity recommends in this link:-
