I'm dealing with maybe poor reading comprehension and maybe schizophrenia and maybe something else. I've read the Bible and might have used GotQuestions.org for one or maybe more of these questions but I guess I still have problems.

Some people need to take more baby steps before learning to walk than others.  I encourage you to do more of a topical study instead of trying to remember everything the bible has to say..

Lee, would you consider using an audible bible? You can download one onto your phone or even listen to bible studies in your car.  You may find it easier to understand the Bible hearing it read out loud rather than reading it if you find it difficult.  Gotquestions is a great site, but it can't supplant the reading and hearing of the Word. Even going to church and hearing sermons preached may be helpful for you.

There are people who spend their entire lives trying to wrap their heads around the whole of scripture, but I doubt there's anyone on the earth who isn't still learning, on top of review.

I go back to things I've read previously and it's like there's something different each time. I look back on my first readthrough and I wonder how I didn't pick up on lots of different things.

If you ask me, slow and steady wins the race. Things either get done fast or they get done well. Take your time and approach it with a calm mind. It can also help to pray before you pick the book up, for wisdom and guidance, for a better understanding.

I'm sorry if my answers seem to be so cut and dry. Sometimes we get posts here that 'bait' members just to get reactions rather than genuine replies as you're seeking. I also have some visual difficulties with some dyslexia as well. I've been told my reading comprehension wasn't all that wonderful either. gotquestions.org is pretty good for a number of things, and many of us have resorted to it.

So, don't feel badly about that at all. Perhaps the suggestion below would help with learning scriptures. A lot of people prefer it that way and are able to learn better audibly. By the way, biblehub.com is a good site for comparative biblical studies on verses that might be difficult to understand. It's a very handy resource, and I recommend it highly. God bless you.

Did Jesus die on the cross?  YES

Does Jesus' death pay for sins? YES

If Jesus' death pays for sins, why does Jesus' death pay for sins?  There is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood.  Jesus shed His blood on the cross

Heb 9:16  For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established.

Heb 9:17  For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive.

Heb 9:18  Therefore not even the first covenant was inaugurated without blood.  Heb 9:19  For when every commandment of the law had been declared by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,  Heb 9:20  saying, “This is the blood of the covenant that God commanded for you.”

Heb 9:21  And in the same way he sprinkled with the blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship.

Heb 9:22  Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

Heb 9:23  Thus it was necessary for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

Heb 9:24  For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf.

Heb 9:25  Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own,  Heb 9:26 for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Heb 9:27  And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,   Heb 9:28  so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

If Jesus' death pays for sins, does Jesus' death pay for everyone's sins?  It forgives all those who surrender to Him as there Lord and Master.

Rom 10:9  because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  Rom 10:10  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Jesus acted like a human on the cross he died as a human does, he was sinless and perfect an became a lamb and a suffering servant despite being God the Son. Anyone who believe in Jesus will be blessed and have their sins paid for. Everyone who doesnt come to Jesus will bear their own sins.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
