Some thoughts I wrote years ago...thought they might be helpful.

In these times when so many crazy things are happening, it's important to learn to abide or stay in Christ.  That means believing in Jesus as our own Savior, and seeking to walk with the Lord, with the help of the Holy Spirit.    Of course, we should pray and read the Word, so we know what God says, and so we can grow spiritually.

I find it helpful to remember:

Don't lean on our own understanding, but acknowledge the Lord, and He will guide us.   Don't obsess about things.... don't magnify your problems, you are in God's hands.   (Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.   In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6)

Love our neighbors as we love ourselves, and treat others like we like to be treated.    This doesn't mean we have to agree with sins...but we can still love people and pray for them to know Christ.   (And He said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the great and foremost commandment.   The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Matthew 22:37-39)

Be thankful.   Be thankful for what we have, even if it is little.  There are always people who are much worse off than us.   (Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.  Colossians 3:15)

To be continued...

Dear sister this is wonderful and very encouraging. I agree 100%, but I must admit it has been difficult at times to follow 100%.

I do find it amazing, that you said you wrote this year's ago, however God's word never gets old. It's fresh and full of life everyday. The same as the in sight that God has given you, that to never grows old.

God bless ?

Don't grumble.   The Israelites were in the wilderness for 40 years because of that.  Also, have you ever met a happy grumbler?   Try to look for the good things in your life, rather than the bad.  (Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer.  1 Corinthians 10:10)

Realize that when we go through trials, the Lord is refining us and seeking to make us into better, more compassionate servants of His.   The Lord can do this, if we respond to trials in the right way and don't become angry and bitter.  (Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.   And let endurance have it's perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.  James 1:2-4)

Let our lights shine for Christ.   We are His ambassadors in this world.  (Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.  2 Corinthians 5:20)

Negative people. It is so sad to listen to them but it must be worse to be them. Unfortunately we may all want to limit our contact with them.

Adding to all of this, it's easier to stay grounded when you have plenty of exposure to God and fellow believers. Philippians 4:8 gives us something very helpful to keep in mind. "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
