Soul may have a characteristic or unique attribute of having personality, but is the soul personality? ???

We have insight into these matters:  "Then the Lord went down to see the city and the tower that the sons of men had built.  God then said: “Look! They are one people with one language, and this is what they have started to do. Now there is nothing that they may have in mind to do that will be impossible for them" (Genesis 11:5,6).  With the advantage of communicating in a single language and with dwelling together in cities, humans were becoming capable of impressive feats and accomplishments, some of which could have been benign, but others which were clearly against divine wishes (hence, the confusion of the languages).  Had God not thwarted those world citizens, they would have created advancements that would have been both impressive and fearsome.  I always ask myself this question:  Had the industrial revolution occurred, not in the late 1700s, but 1,000 years earlier, would our world be a better place or worse place? I fully believe that with our imperfect state as humans, we would have killed off ourselves long ago with our evil nature, just as human induced global climate change will eventually kill humankind in the future.  

God was of course at the time of Noah not desirous of His time-plan to be meddled with by Nimrod and we continue on God's time path.  At some point, God will intervene in earth's affairs or we will eventually destroy ourselves with all the science and technology we have created

To answer the above questions and others, we might have to go back to antediluvian records and times. many of the ancient writings parallel Genesis remarkably closely and with far more detail. There are other books that are often frowned upon and disregarded. Those that will not learn from history will probably repeat it. Greek Mythology is not all myth..

The Nephilim were not human, though they are referred to as 'men' when the scriptures tells of their deeds. Hybrids are not fully human, so we have to be careful here. It seems that the 'gods' were involved in the ancient myths and these fallen sons of God are repeating again today what we now observe. It is no coincidence that Yeshua said - "as in the days of Noah". So we will see the forces of darkness again trying to create for themselves a people.

The creatures that are currently being 'constructed' might have human parts and pieces but depending on your view, or lack of one, it is going to be in the end analysis God that decides.

If my sources and understanding is correct, technology and knowledge is doubling every three months. A linear acceleration that is mind staggering and plotting off the charts. Look at the progress humanity has achieved with the extension of life spans compared to 100, 500, 1,000 years ago. Look at the progression of life saving medicine, immunizations, organ transplants, artificial hearts and valves, robotic limbs of amputees working off of brain impulses [all about outdated technologies]. 

Gene therapy and splicing, DNA alterations, animal / human grown organs for human implantation replacement and the myriad of other alterations being tested and experimented on today, to extend human life indefinitely. Is that really a good thing and biblical, are we playing God? That's not a statement but a philosophical rational and biblical question?

What does it mean to be human, at what point do we cease to be human? If or when it's perfected, that we could get a shot or implant that would change and alter us so that we could have vision like an eagle, hear like an owl, smell like a hound, on and on... At what point do we cease to be fully human and perhaps a hybrid? Does anyone see these advancements and offerings under someones skin on the right-hand or forehead in the future? 

Anyone think designer babies is a conspiracy theory, something out of someones over active imagination? 

So, with the advancement of all these sciences, when does a human cease to be a human, or do you believe it is not even possible?

Amen, With all these things that is going on in this world, it is never hidden from the Everlasting Father, but soon these things will come to an end, so then, everyone that are His, must prepare in taking heed as you that are aware of His 2nd. coming.

I hear what you are saying. However we need to remember that we are not just a body and a spirit. There is more to us all and we are individuals. The `souls` under the altar, were without a body, but had a spirit. And more, for each were an individual, thus there is something about the soul that includes the spirit yet has our individual person about it. I think people say - Body, soul & spirit. Yet the soul and spirit overlap as I see it.

In God`s word we see that the word soul also means spirit. But we are not all the same we are different in many ways. And these differences have come over time and experience and from our moral choices.

I have a thought to add as it seems to me.....

That the body is a house that houses our soul and spirit and that is a collection of organs that facilitate an appreciation of the Creation. Eyes facilitate light, ears facilitate sound, nerves facilitate tactile sensations, etc.

Our soul is who we are as an individual and is responsible for integrating what comes from without and the means of appreciating all input.

Our spirit is the organ (so to speak) that defines our life nature and is capable of substantiating what is beyond this limited physical realm.

I believe until we are regenerated, the spirit is dead because of Adam. Regeneration makes our spirit Alive 'In Christ' and is eternal.

The soul is in between the two and is the clearinghouse agent while in the body. It is our souls that are 'being saved' in the process of sanctification.

Our theology and views pretty much agree. Every morning I get up I wonder if today will be the Rapture? Everything is so close, and we see everything lined up and in place. If I'm still here on the earth, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to get up and hear Damascus is no more; the Bushehr Nuclear Facility in Elam is destroyed and people are fleeing the radiation; or Israel's immediate surrounding bordering Arab & Muslim nations and groups are attacking and trying to over run Israel [Psalm 83:]. Perhaps a new technology breakthrough / advancement that will be shortly available to enhance human life? 

I'm sure we'll be in for some surprises along the way and think, I didn't see that coming in that fashion. Everything is becoming much more clear by the month it seems. We now clearly see the players building up and their alliances and reasons for the Ezekiel 38: 39: invasion. The following verse has always been a mystery to me. Twenty, fifty, one hundred years ago no one could possibly put 2 + 2 together how this could possibly come about.

Revelation 13:14 (KJV) And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. [Emphasis added]

Them that dwell on the earth (humans - man) will be manufacturing this image of the Beast. I vision it as being robotic, able to think and process information thousands of times faster than humans [artificial intelligence], and most likely demonically possessed. If you haven't seen the video's of this AI robotic "Sophia" on Youtube videos, check it out. I suspect this 'image' might be in order of something like this, but on steroids. I hear a personal size "hey Siri" is about perfected that will do more than turn your lights, furnace, music etc. on and off for you with a command. 

A personal conjecture: End time things are happening at break neck speed currently, faster than anyone watching can possibly keep up with. We know the Lord sets and removes kings and leaders according to His will and purpose. I strongly feel Trump was set here for a particular reason, especially directly after the Muslim; it was the biggest upset and surprise of the decade. If Trump does not see a second term, or something happens to him; I fully expect to see a liberal socialist, God hating one world order Democrat to replace him. Then break neck speed will suddenly become supersonic. This current Pope Francis, the first ever Jesuit pope, is saying and doing everything one would expect a false prophet to do in preparation for a new world order. And I'll close with that.
