I feel very discouraged and lost

Hi aw. Your responses seem more "present tense." It is why Jesus said, "Remember me." I wish I could do that for more than 15 seconds at a time. I truly am a sheep, prone to wander. It is why we need one another, to remind us, and to encourage each other daily. I don't need to tell you; you've told us when you first appeared. You are pretty sharp, sister. If you figure it all out, let me know with all possible speed. In fact, pray for me. I'm going through some stuff that is really putting me through the ringer. I tell you this because there is a principle in Physics: what you give is who you are. A man who gives nothing has nothing. So, I need your help too. The more we give to each other, the more in Christ we become: he gave everything. Blessings to you.

I have felt discouraged in hard times.

I know something that helps a lot.

Get a small A6 size lined but plain diary (no frilly bits). Write the date at the top and then every day write a few short simple sentences of nice things that happened e.g. had a latte and read Psalm 139, I managed to smile or Mum said she loves me.

Make easy to remember entries like Mum said she loves me after she spilt the tea. Saliant things in memory to remember good times.

This diary really keeps a constant hope after verses of hope in the bible.

Amen, and Thank you so much Coliseum. I pray that God will bless you as you walk through the fire. I pray that God will help you conquer this hill you're facing. You're right, we must give to each other. I know that the Lord has wonderful plans for us all. We must learn to be still and know who He is. May God continue to bless you ?

Be encouraged. The ringer will yield profit.

Really good verses to remember when you are worried.

My grandchildren are going through what you face.  Fortunately they have been holding jobs for many years--since they were 16.  They are minimum wage jobs.  But employers look at those to gauge reliability and diligence.  Most often working these jobs open doors to others of more responsibility.  Often they are much different than what they took in college.  So be flexible and willing to go in another direction.  God sometimes closes doors and opens others to move us where He wants us.  I have one son who is still working the job he majored in and the other  is not.  He had 2 degrees and then got a technical degree in another field.  He followed that for years, but that degree plus the experience in  that field qualified him for the job he has now.  It is far from his original goals.  All of that took many years.  My advice is to praise God in all circumstances because He is worthy.   Be satisfied.  

Heb 13:5  Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] [Jos 1:5]

Heb 13:6  So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me? [Psa 27:1; Psa 118:6]

Hello everyone!

I've been struggling with a lot and I'm going to try to sum it up here.

I recently graduated college, but I haven't gotten a job in my field yet. This has lead to a lot of frustration from myself and my family. I struggle with finding another job that is right for me. And my dad has said that I seem depressed, mentally ill and like a non-believer. I don't know if I am these things or not, which is scaring me. I want to feel encouraged about my job situation. I want to have more ambition with my current job and when I pursue other hobbies. But most of all, I want to be fully confident that I am saved and a child of God. I keep doubting myself and falling back into bad habits. I appreciate your prayers and support. Please give your input on this. I'm really afraid. Take care and God bless.

One of the downsides of being young is you have less of a sense

of things coming to pass.

They come, they pass.

Life is long, longer than it seems when you cannot find work in

the field of your studies.

Take advantage of that time honing skills like 

expanding your work ethic in another job... one 

you might even consider menial. 

You got to pay bills anyway.

Point I'm getting at is experience.

Don't pass up opportunities like this to gain

experience.

If nothing else, it will make you appreciate

your work in your field of studies all the more

when you finally do get the work!
