Not really.

To claim that God will not heal you via a faith healer unless you have enough faith [usually accompanied by an envelope to put money in] is not Biblical.

Any many times, especially on television, these people do not have all the disabilities that they claim.  In the 1960's my mother watched a Kathryn Kuhlman healing service that came to town and was locally televised.  Kathryn Kuhlman was Benny Hinn's mentor [he has claimed that].

One of my mother's close friends at the time brought her dad to the healing service.  He was getting elderly and had some "elderly" problems.

BUT, she brought him in a wheelchair and presented him to KK in that wheelchair.  The man was NOT confined to a wheelchair.  In fact, my mother said she never saw him in one, but sawing him walking.  KK "healed" him and stood him up from the chair and he walked around.  He already had that ability.

KK didn't know that, but my mother's close friend did.

It's all so strange to me.

I do believe in church member laying hands on the sick and praying for them.  Whether God heals them or not is up to him.

But to pay [which that part of healing services are not shown] someone to "heal" you - I don't believe in that.

Yes, the principle is true but there are more false faith healers around than real ones. A real faith healer will first be a most humble man of God. From what I have seen if a person wants these kinds of favors from God then that person better start trying to live as sin free as you can.

The best author to read for this was Kenneth E. Hagin, who went home in 2004. Brother Hagin has tons of videos but he doesn't teach as well while speaking as he does in writing. So you need to read some of his books. I've read close to 75% of them. Brother Hagin was the real deal and I know this because I went to see & hear him 6 times in the early 1990's. One night, instead of the healing line he had a vision to pray for certain people. I was 1 of those people. No, I was not miraculously healed of a physical ailment but I was healed of many of my spiritual ailments. I mean something happened to me and I sure did change after that night. We all know we're all sinning big time when we get saved, so this is not about salvation. This is about getting favors from the Lord and He doesn't usually do them for people who don't want anything beyond salvation.

I highly recommend the Kenneth E. Hagin book "I Believe in Visions", start with that one.

This is an excellent example of a phony faith healer. Never send anyone money for healing, those are always false.

But folks, Faith is the keyword in the term faith healing, and judging simply from our board I'd have to say almost no one has the kind of faith necessary to speak miracles into existence. This is sad but it's what's going on these days.

Only God can miraculously heal, as He does all healing.
God has blessed me with a certain discernment, and what I see
on TV and U tube, my spirit cries out to be false.
If they were some kind of true healers, blessed by GOD, they would be walking the halls of the hospitals,
and the streets alleys  in the hoods, blessing/healing the poor and downtrodden, for a payment of
only knowing they may hear someday a 'well done' by their Savior.

"Confess your faults/sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth much."  James 5:16

Here's one way that already happened.

Back in the 80's or 90's a major fraud was put over on naive Christians by a man named Robert Tilton (I think). This guy was sending out hankies, pieces of thread, and some other items that supposedly could heal you. This man was finally caught, publicly exposed, and sent to jail. A couple yrs later I saw an anonymous interview with another man who claimed he had been a collage roommate with Tilton. As unbelievable as this may sound, the 2nd man said Tilton used to discuss doing this when they were roommates. Tilton always considered being a phony faith healer a last ditch method of getting rich. I forget what he did that lead to his arrest and conviction, but he swindled millions of people. I don't think any, or not many, got any of their money back.

Even though I am convinced that Kenneth E. Hagin was for real I know the OPer has a legitimate concern. Hagin may have died as a successful man but he didn't live a life I wish I had. What I mean is God gave him a wonderful gift, the gift of healing, this is true, but Hagin didn't have such a wonderful life. So I would never envy him or think he said and did all he did for personal gain. I also think an Englishman named Smith Wigglesworth was also the real deal. But that means there are a whole lot of more phonies out there than real faith healers. Be very careful and never send them money for the promise of healing. God doesn't sell His gifts for money and neither would a true servant of God.

Do you believe faith healing is real?

I do believe in the miraculous, because a number of them have been personally experienced in my lifetime. The term: faith healing has a rather off-color stigma to it. To me, it would be a demonstrative event, like a theatrical televangelist making overt displays of the Holy Spirit. Benny Hinn comes to immediate mind.

Yes I believe that God heals people. People who walk in faith and pray for those that are sick have had there prayers answered many times. Are there still sick among us, yes. Why haven't everyone that we pray for gotten healed? That is up to God. We are required to pray, also when we can, lay hands on people and pray for healing. Faith works with both people, the ones praying and the one receiving. However God's reasons for healing or not is between the person and God. Not everyone who remains sick, lame or what ever the case may be ( mental, physical, spiritual, financial, or emotional) lacks faith, nor does the person praying. I believe God is in control and his plans are best even when we don't understand, all believers have been given a measure of faith and each one uses that measure when they are praying. Whether for themselves or others, however the manifestation of those prayers come from God and in his timing.

God bless ?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
