For let us examine the SPIRITUAL side of the words you brought .

For this they are willfully igonorant of the word .    and believe me that is a death sentence for all who reject the LORD and the wonderous treasures of HIS WORD .

I have watched corona , and truly have no idea how long this will last ,  or if it will get worse .     But I seem to notice it spares most children and takes not their lives .

To me , opinion only ,   it appears to be more of a milder form of judgment , more of a wake up call that if many wont heed ,   means something worse will surely be on the way ,

whether it be corona or another virus .      Its high time for the sack cloth and ash message of repent and believe .

The death rate is almost ten percent in Italy .    Its even harder on the yong over there , according to a news report .

Now let me take us back to a time before we were even born .     And this is their own words .  the first wave of what is known as Spanish flu struck  in what is believed to have been Kansas .

SO why does it get the name Spanish flu .     cause during its second wave ,  it had mutated and turned very deadly ,   oh yes it returned with a vengeance .

Can this happen again .      YOU bet it can .      Now ,  we should be wise enough to wash our hands and etc ,  but I know of something far wiser .

Let us open bibles .    What is the ONE THING that can stop any plague , any judgment , any destruction .    WHEN the call is made to repent ,    BETTER REPENT .

Cause GOD don't change .  And we should be cheerfully happy HE DONT .    IF repentance is made ,  HE WILL CEASE any of the evils HE said would come to pass ,

Just take a look at ninevah .    wasn't that wonderful .   the people repented and were spared .  what great mercy in our LORD .

BUT ,   notice the second time ,  ninevah did not repent when it was warned ,   ITS END Was VERY DIFFERENT .  GOD DESTROYED IT . 

FOLKS ,   my call is ,   to all that has breath to kings and peasants to pastors so called and to the nations of the earth ,    REPENT ,   for in CHRIST IS LIFE and our end is good ,

but if the nations repent not then expect in time to come two things .   JUDGMENT ,   and then for all who repented not ON HIS DAY ,   prepare to hear I NEVER KNEW YOU .

I didn’t read though the whole thread but there are countries where many have died so it would be careless of other countries to think it can’t happen to them. It’s best to be prepared. There is probably a natural disaster you have never heard of- the 1995 heat wave in Chicago that killed 786 people in three days. The morgue had no room for them so there were huge refrigerated  trucks lining the streets with dead bodies in them. Mayor Daley and the people of Chicago had been warned by medical experts, but nobody thought hundreds of people could die from heat that quickly. It’s best to be prepared.

The reason people are getting toliet paper is because we don’t know when the government is going to force us to quarantine. The people I know who work in Information Technology are actually spending a lot of money on software that’s capable of  supporting thousands of employees working from home for two weeks. There seems to be a belief out there that we will eventually be asked to stay in for two weeks.

Doesn't the Spirit within us, say that we have a civic responsibility to do what we can to mitigate the spread of disease such as this?

When we know well that caution can make a difference, why would we not do so?

It seems to this one, that to say something like--'it doesn't matter, God is in control and what will be will be'--is tempting God.

Knowing that we could make others sick by our choices and doing so anyway? Is this Love?

My own thought is God is giving many of us a lesson  on idols, what with all sports being closed down. He will not tolerate God's other than himself.

Being prepared is always a good thing but to be motivated by fear and panic isn't. Wisdom considers fear and emotion but does not allow fear and emotion to overcome logic and truth.

I agree with you Tigger.  People are panicking, stockpiling and living in fear to leave their homes.  There are roughly 331,000,000 people in the United States and as of March 13, 2020 at 14:20 GMT, there have been 1832 confirmed cases and 41 deaths due to coronavirus COVID-19 in the United States. I'm not unsympathetic to the those have lost their lives or to the ones who have been affected in our country and in the other countries but I think that people have absolutely lost common sense on this.  I believe that caution should be taken (washing your hands and so forth) and that the elderly and ones more prone to sickness should take extra precautions but as a Christian I have faith in a higher power (God and Jesus) and I don't believe that living in fear is displaying faith.
