What other factors do S.Korea, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong have? I know one - a widespread belief that drinking warm water (never cold) will protect you from disease. A bit of cloth over your face won't do much - maybe remind you not to touch your face? Worst case, it could become loaded with pathogens and actually increase risk. I certainly don't believe there's a conspiracy to deprive citizens of masks. Most conspiracies can be more easily explained as simple incompetence. Only a HEPA type filter / mask, 99.5% efficient down to five microns is sufficient; as microscopic viruses are a little larger than five microns. However, if the filter or mask seal is compromised, the path of least resistance is in effect. However; anything is better than nothing, with a T-shirt for instance covering the nose / mouth. It will slow down the velocity and distance of a cough or sneeze and trap a portion of it. Ideally in a sanitary environment, one would remove the contaminated mask, gloves and bio suit in a negative pressure isolation ante room, wearing surgical gloves and disposing them in a safe bio-hazard manner, then completely washing and sanitizing arms and hands. Common sense says you don't take off your mask with your bare hands and throw it in the kitchen trash can, then rub your eyes and pick your nose. If you like I can find the study from 2014 i read as well which drew the exact same conclusion Blessings Jostler You needn't ,its common sense & although theN95 is made to be disposable it is a surgical mask,a surgical masks purpose it to protect the patient But as I said,it is common sense,if there were enough N95s then by wearing to protect others from droplets surely it would be a good measure provided they were disposed of routinely after each use.....I think people are highly likely to self contaminate by taking them on & off,sliding them up & down their faces as though it were a gas mask! They are not made to get wet & just your breath alone increases the risk of being contaminated as the parasite is small enough to pass through a wet mask Anyway,I prefer the Helmet of Salvation instead,along with.....
