My family if that's what you'd call them divorced me two years ago. I know exactly what you mean. The feeling of abandonment is a pretty bad one to have to live with. It's like losing a spouse and I've survived that as well.

He doesn’t handle rejection well, but the thing is, no one is ever rejecting him.

Months ago my son had a birthday party and my brother brought his son who is the same age. When he saw my son’s best friend  at the party, he suggested that his son, my son and the best friend all get together and go bowling one weekend. The best friend couldn’t go the week he suggested, and he took it personally as if the best friends parents didn’t like him. He then kept his son away from mine. Our sons are the exact same age and have been close for years and we live only fifteen minutes apart from each other.

this is no big deal in isolation but I was close to his wife and then I did something to offend him and he told the wife she could no longer talk to me. I blocked him from my phone because I just need a break but I love him to death.
 

I told  you it was uninteresting and quite embarrassing.

I was doing fine managing my own affairs and finances, prior to the unfortunate situation of waking up from a coma. I discovered myself in a nursing facility. My sister also unfortunately for me, has power of attorney. That was my first dreadful mistaken circumstance of trust.

well i guess you probably already explained explained to him why your son's best friend can not go.

but have you told him why you blocked him on your phone?

if you haven't explain, it might cause the misunderstanding to widen.....
