A few of us have been having some light-hearted fun with these topics.

Now.... remember the old horror movies!

Does anyone remember The Blob?  Creature From the Black Lagoon?   What about The Tingler?

Watching them now, the "special effects" were pretty awful!   But back then, they were scary, even to the adults!

Steve McQueen got his start in The Blob!   That big green mess of jello....I think it was colorized perhaps?   As a child, I think it was a black and white film.

The Tingler really scared me...that strange thing that jumped on to people's backs!

Have any favorites or funny bombs?

The Body Snatchers was one of my scary ones., as was Dracula  .   However, every Halloween I like to watch Abbot & Costello meets__Frankenstein, Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde. etc.  I also like Bill Cosby's The Chicken Heart.  It ate up New York City. There was a Dick VanDyke show with Danny Thomas about creatures from outer space that took over our bodies and had an eye in the back of their heads, and they ate lots of walnuts.  One of my all time favorite movies is Arsenic and Old Lace.

that is a classic... not exactly mind grabbing and was more funny than scary..          my personal favorites are  Alfred Hitchcock directed; emotional but less to know actual blood scenes.  I do not like gorey movies personally.

I've seen a few in the "blood & guts" category, but did not care for them at all. I suppose it was only to satiate my curiosity. Now I'm not so curious. Ick! Hitchcock had British class there is no disputing that. He was truly the Master of Suspense.

There are some "Trilogy Horror" movies out there. Some were made for television. I went to one at the theatre during the 1960's and I can't recall the name of it right off the top of my head. Segmented films are kind of like that. Anyway, there was one where a severed hand from some murderous fiend was kept in a wooden box by someone and it got accidentally released. For some reason this hand had a vengeful retribution to tend to and kept crawling its way to the victim. No matter what happened in attempting to get rid of this hand, the thing would keep coming back time and time again. The victim finally thought he'd done away with it and was driving away somewhere in the pouring rain. Suddenly, this hand climbed on the car grabbing the windshield wiper. This made seeing the road impossible and the automobile careened off a cliff or into a tree, smashing it and he died. Sweet revenge!

that's the only movie I remember really loosing it in the theater...     I was with my wife and she was on my right and a good sized guy was on my left.    When they were looking out the back of the boat waiting for the shark to show himself and the music was building things were pretty tense....   I do get into movies by the way.'

Well long story short when the darn fish jumped onto the back of the boat my wife set out a little strange noise and at the same split second that big guy on my left let out a "wow" and in the process poked me in the ribs with his elbow really hard...   Pure reflex I shot strait out of my seat and screamed like a woman.  Put my run reflex in full motion and I took a half dozen running steps in place....   I looked down at my wife and she was laughing hysterically and the guy next to me just smiled and shook his head...    we all had a good laugh when I got my pride back in order....    and I've loved that movie ever sense.

Thanks for making me laugh out loud....can just picture you doing that!    I really loved Jaws and enjoy shark movies.

Check out The Reef on Tubi TV, app or website (free).   It's a true story, very suspenseful!   Sharks, of course!   Bait is also on Tubi TV and I enjoyed it, but The Reef is really good.

My review on The Reef from my shark movie topic.....

https://www.worthychristianforums.com/topic/225131-shark-movies/

Recently watched The Reef.  It's a true story where a yacht totally overturns and five people are left in the shark infested waters.   One man climbs aboard the capsized yacht which is sinking and will soon go under as he fears the sharks.   The others decide to swim 10 miles to an island, hoping to make it.

Movie is free on Tubi TV app or website.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
