After Gog is defeated the Israelites will burn Gog's weapon as fuel fire for seven years.

In the 1st GOG & MAGOG war, Israel had been gathered from nations after the Hollocaust, remember their independence day in 1948.

Ezekiel 38:8...........They had been brought out from the nations, and now all of them live in safety.

Israel has been defending their independence for 72 years, their army is guarding their safety.

This war actually starts after the 1000 year period.   Christ ruling the kingdoms of man.  No wars for a thousand years.  The system of Babylon gone.  No more big corporations, and I doubt there will be factories.  Life will be simple.  Every one will build their own house, and grow their own food.  It will go back to basic and simple.  It's a time of rest.  No more big banks to pay back.  No more taxes.  No oppression.

I image that because of the change of lifestyle, completely different to the one we know now, they probably will make spears and bows and arrows.  They will use wood to make these weapons.  It's readily available.  It's the wood that will keep the fire burning.

I have thought about this as well. For a moment let's say there are two Gog wars, for the debate's sake.

Let's assume one of the wars is not at the beginning as in the OP, but at Har-Meggido, when the multitudes are in the valley of Jehoshaphat at the great battle of the day of the Lord when blood will fill the valley.

Leading up to this battle, the climax of all that has come before, the world is in a shambles. The seals have all opened, the trumps have all sounded and all but the last of the plagues have been unleashed.

Globally there is no food or water for anyone and that means very little, if any, production of goods or services. This would affect the whole earth and everyone on it and it would be probable supply and distribution are memories; so getting modern weapons and ammo into the hands of what would be 100's of millions just won't happen.

The armies that are gathered to battle in the valley of decision are not just the trained fighting forces of nations but 'many people with you'. It's probable not all of them are armed with modern weapons and they fashion weapons from what they can find, which would be lumber, trees, bushes. There was an anecdote of war I heard where the soldiers ran out of bullets before the other side ran out of people and the soldiers were overrun and had to engage in hand to hand combat; with swords and spears. I'm not sure if that was in Korea or Vietnam. I think Korea. 

I don't know if WMD's are an issue. I suppose they are great if an army doesn't plan to occupy a location but some WMD's would render a region uninhabitable, and that wouldn't work if the plan was to take over and occupy. Now maybe that isn't the plan but it seems at the point of Armageddon infrastructure, command and control, and military hierarchy may not even exist in the chaos. Spirits go out to gather the armies so mankind's control of things is gone.

I don't see it as beyond possibility that a Gog war happens at Armageddon and a great many people are armed just as it is written in Eze 38.

Yes the world will be in shambles, and productivity may decrease during the coming plagues, but these weapons are already made, and just waiting to be used.  I think Satan has prepared them well, and they have a big stockpile already in existence.  For instance, just before the Armageddon war, there will be a massive war between all the kingdoms.  The kings of the east will stand up to the FP's kingdom, and they will have their allies, and the FP will have his allies, and according to Daniel, the other king of the North (I think Russia) will come and join the fight. All the kingdoms coming to war each other.  A third of men will die in this war.  I am sure they will all have their weapons, big and small, because they are fighting each other.

but what stops this war, is the 'appearing of Christ' in the sky. Can you imagine what it will look like? - the whole sky will be lit up by Christ and his whole host angels.  This is what takes them all by surprise, and this is what cuts that war short.  Three frog like spirits come out of the mouth of the dragon, the beast, and the the false prophet to gather the nations to war against the Lamb now.  They only 'gather' at Meggido to plan their attack. Whilst they are there, Christ then touches ground,  on to the Mt of Olives to draw them in that direction.  An earthquake happens.  The Mount of Olives splits into three.  The armies come down through the valley of Jehoshophat on the east of Jerusalem, and come down also through the west of Jerusalem via the Valley of Hinnom right up the Brook of Kidron. They completely surround Jerusalem but with their backs facing the great sea and drawn to where Christ is standing on the Mt of Olives. These armies are absolutely frightened, but they are obeying their orders.  All the rest of men are hiding in the dens of the rocks, and the cliffs of the mountains absolutely terrified.  I cannot see those armies using their little weapons, or even thinking that it would be of any use.  I cannot see non military men all running to join this fight either.

As I pointed out to R.Hartono, those Armageddon armies will be killed in those valleys where they are assembled.  They will not be collected, but left there to rot.  They will be food for the birds. This is what is called 'the winepress' where the blood comes up to a horses bridle.  This winepress involves only the armies who are killed in those valleys. The rest are dealt with after this.

Compare to the second war after the thousand years.  They will need weapons because they are not planning on fighting Christ, but to attack those living in the camp.  This is a planned flesh and blood war.  They are planning to attack Israel who are living in the kingdom 'in the flesh'.  They will be burnt with fire, just like they were a thousand years before.  Same way.  They will be left on the open field for the birds to eat their rotting flesh, just like before but their bones will be buried in the valley of Hamongog...not the valley of Jehoshapat, nor the valley of Hinnom (Tophet), but the valley of Hamongog which doesn't even exist yet.

When Christ destroyed Babylon a thousand years before, he destroyed all her factories, and the whole corrupt system of business.  If there is not going to be any wars during the thousand years, then that makes absolute sense there will be no factories to make weapons, and the technology will be forgotten.  To me it also makes perfect sense that when Satan gets out of prison, he will use Gog to show them how to make the weapons of old.  To use the materials that are readily available, like wood.  They worked for Satan in the old days, and Israel don't have any weapons.  So I guess he thinks he's got the upper hand.  I can see it so clearly Diaste.  I can see the differences.  I had search for all the clues to think like a detective, and not like a lawyer.

     The war of Gog from Magog  

Ezekiel 38 & 39 refers to an alliance of Northern peoples, formed to invade the holy Land, sometime during these latter days. Scholars differ as to who these peoples/nations are, but no reference is made to Israel’s present immediate neighbours – the Arab Islamic nations and entities, such as Hamas. The reason why they are not included in this alliance, is the fact that they will have already suffered an earlier massive defeat, the Psalms 83 fire from the Lord; His Day of wrath. Revelation 6:12-17

The passage in Ezekiel 38:11-13 describe Israel as:

1/ A people dwelling securely – not the case at present.

2/ A nation at peace – all of the nations surrounding are outright or potential enemies.

3/ Dwelling without walls – in modern terms: undefended borders.

4/ An extremely wealthy and prosperous nation, blessed by the Lord – not true of the Jewish State of Israel.

This shows that His people, Christian Israelites, will be in the Land after this clearance.

 

Ezekiel 38 & 39 are both describing the same event, an attack upon the Lord’s people, by a leader known as Gog, from the ‘far reaches of the North’. He is mentioned again in Revelation 20:8-9 which uses Ezekiel’s prophecy to portray another, final attack against Israel. The result of this battle is that all are destroyed by fire and Satan is finally judged. Some differences are:    

1/ The first battle involves only a few nations, the last will be every nation.

2/ There is no mention of Satan in Ezekiel 38-39, but in Revelation 20, he is the primary character.

3/ The Ezekiel battle says the dead will be gathered and buried for 7 months. The armies at the end of the Millennium are cremated instantly, by fire from heaven.

4/ The battle in Ezekiel is used by God to display His power. In Revelation, people have  been faithful to God for 1000 years. Those in Rev 20:7-10 who are rebellious are killed without any more opportunity for repentance.

 

The second chapter of Joel up to verse 28, is a sequence of events.

Verse 1- 11 is the Day of the Lord’s vengeance/ Middle East devastation/ Sixth Seal.

V 12-17 A call for the repentance of His people.   V 18-19 They gather into the Land.

V 20 The Gog and Magog war. V 21-26 People of Zion, rejoice, I shall recompense you.

V 27 You will know that I am present in Israel and I am your God. This verse parallels Ezekiel 39:28 It is by His deeds that He is known, not by His presence, until His Return, after the Tribulation, therefore, all the above happens before that.

Joel 2:18-20 Then, the Lord showed His ardent love for His Land and was moved with compassion for His people. He answered their appeal and gave them food in plenty. I shall expose you to the danger of attack no longer. I shall remove the Northern peril [Gog and Magog] far from you, into the desert areas. The leading troops will be near the Dead Sea and the rearguard by the Mediterranean. Their rotting stench will rise up!        The Lord has done great things!

I don't disagree for the most part. I have pretty much the same take on the general occurrence of events. I don't know if it makes sense or not but I have the same question as R hartono; if this burning of weapons happens after the 1000 years, it's 1007 years. I don't see that. And fire comes down from heaven and consumes Gog and all the armies, one would think the weapons might also be burned if they were wood. I don't think the Gog of Magog armies are left to rot either since fire consumes them.
