So how do you see Satan as tempter in the bookof Job, where he is shown in a strange relationsip with God. Not as the epitomy of all evil, but as a being allowed, indeed encouraged, to tempt Job,to find his breaking point.

6 One day the angels [a] came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. 7 The LORD said to Satan, "Where have you come from?"

Satan answered the LORD, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it."

8 Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."

9 "Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. 10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."

12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger."

Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.

Do we really want to dwell on this topic any longer?

We all know that the glory and power belongs to God and I have the impression that this topic will drag on too long for the wrong reason ( to much attention for the devil) and

My opinion is that it should be closed.

Angels~being knowledgable about our enemy is part of wisdom. He is not being exalted by being EXPOSED.. That is a old devil tactic to keep everyone in the dark about his mode of operation... sheesh.. he might hear us.. :emot-highfive:

What's with all the questions about Satan suddenly?

Don't you think it would be a greater benefit to focus on Christ?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I, too, have noticed the number of threads related to Satan, demons, hell, demon activity, etc., and the only thing I can say is that the closer we get to the Lord's return, the more Satan is going to surface in so many ways. He is working harder, because he knows his doom is sure and that it is soon. At least I think he knows that. So, I think people are beginning to ask more questions about him and about hell because perhaps God is giving them more a conscious awareness of the enemy and his power to deceive and he wants us to know who our enemy is, how he works, so that we know how to defeat him. I see so many young people in bondage to sin and to Satan and he has them so deceived by his lies. And, they just can't seem to see the truth. I wonder if, for a time, God has blinded their eyes so that when he decides to reveal the truth to them that it will be overwhelming. I know the scriptures talk about God blinding people to the truth and hardening hearts and deafening ears so they can not hear. Do you ever wonder why he does this? I think, perhaps, it is so when he finally opens their eyes that the enormous contrast will be so overwhelming that they will fall on their knees before God in humility and will repent of their sin and will turn to God with full allegiance.

Angels, it is my firm belief that we are very close or even the beginning of he end times prophesies. I truly believe that the whole world is about to have a Job experience. If you look at the things that He allowed to happen to Job, and we understand why this happened and that in the end things will be made right, it will go a long way for those of us who will go through the tribulation to understand what and why this is happening.

We have been told that the end time powers have been given authority to overcome the saints on a physical level. If we are still here at that time understanding how Job's problems happened and their resolution might give some of us (me anyway) some spiritual help.

I don't see anything in this thread that looks at the evil one in any kind of positive light.

As the evil forces get stronger during the next few years I think you will see people having more of a discussion of how we may interface with it and overcome. It will not be easy as it was not for Job....

My thoughts.

When are you more willing to do something? When someone forces you into it, or when you made your own mind up to do it? Something to think about.

How many people fall in and out of love throughout their lifetime? A lot. Do you think that God's love for us is contingent upon our love for him? We are ambivalent. How many people manage to stay in love with the same woman or man throughout their lifetime? A lot don't. If God is going to save us based solely on our love for him and our obedience, than how can we be 100% sure that we will continue to remain obedient and in love with him for a whole eternity. Forever and forever? We need God's mercy to save us and we are just flesh and bone, so if our feelings are always changing and we are created in a way that we are given to moods and changing feelings, than how can we always maintain a perfect attitude towards God, even if we want to?

I know we are living in the last days and those are going to be scary days---I know as a child of God we have nothing to fear but when I look around and see so many young people getting into wicca it breaks my heart and they are often very nice kids.

In Canada in the schools I believe there is more wicca then ever before and they mingle with Christians because they don't come right out that its satanism--they believe in co called nature stuff and are very peaceful therefore its easier spread.

We live in a world which is going downwards ad we better pay attention what is going on around us.

Zayit: Never read that. Well, I am a new Christian. Apparently, though, many have not. Hmm...sometimes I am very scared of God.

I know where you are coming from.... a very long time ago I let some evilness convince me that the Lord wanted me to really understand satan and his ways of dealing with the world and people in general, so I took up a study of pretty much the full realm of the whole mess. You know... "it's easier to fight an enemy that you understand" and all that foolishness. I'd say it lasted for 5 or 6 years. it nearly cost me eternity and much in this life. Too ugly to get into here.

My problem is how to tell people about it without getting some others interested and have them do what I did just to see if what I would say is true. I promise that is not a good idea. It leads to disaster every time.

So I do understand why you are concerned, it is a very tight rope to walk, but we can't just not discuss it either or some will think that it is OK.

A very tight rope to walk indeed.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
