Is there a way for someone to take their own life and still go to heaven? Yes it’s a permanent solution to a temporary problem but some problems are life long and in many cases it is too late as the hole someone dig themselves in is too deep. Only a cruel God would advise someone to permanently suffer.

The act of suicide does not send you to hell—Refusing to except Jesus as your Savior does.

Would a true Christian commit suicide?

I know of two recent cases where a young man took his own life. Both were from Christian homes, had  accepted  Jesus as Savior at  an early age. Both attended church, were active in their youth groups.  Both had loving parents (still married) and siblings, were popular in school, athletic. Both were high achievers  with promising  futures.

So what went wrong?

In one case,  mental illness manifested itself and did not respond to therapy or medication, and in the other,  a series of head injuries from sports accidents resulted in irreversible brain damage. In both cases,  death was a result of a willful act of a troubled mind that God chose not to deliver them from. Those left behind may never fully understand the reasons why, at least not on this earth.

Isaiah 42:3 “ A bruised reed he will not break off, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring about justice. “ Jesus deals tenderly with a weak and broken spirit,  not in violence.

Does this imply that every suicide gets a free pass? Absolutely not. Those who are lost in sin prior to their untimely death will continue to remain lost. But for a believer has fallen into despair and depression, and for whom God has chosen not to give  the victory,  He will show mercy.

So far as I know there's nothing in the Bible that directly and explicitly speaks of whether or not people who commit suicide go to Heaven. Our lives are a testimony to those around us. The Bible speaks favorably of perseverance in the face of adversity and when undergoing trials. If a Christian commits suicide does it set a good example for other believers? Does it make unbelievers stop and think that there might be something to our faith? Will it inspire others going through tough times of their own? Lifelong problems aren't permanent because our earthly lives have a temporary duration.

If a person who has accepted Christ as Saviour and Lord, yes. He/she will go to Heaven if they make a choice to end their life. I also would have if my sister had found me two hours later than she had. It had been several days from my understanding, but I was in an extensive coma during the time of that occurrence and to an awakening. Of course, I was very confused at that point and remained so for an undetermined time period.

I came to full cognizance sometime later and it certainly didn't happen overnight. Neither did recovery.

A person's mind when making extensive contemplation of ending a life of sorrow or whatever the reason may be, is not thinking rationally or as they normally should. The Lord is far more understanding of the deeper meanings of our hearts and minds abilities. His compassion is far more extensive that we can comprehend. So again, would He accept a person who had made a desperate successful attempt? Yes, most assuredly He would.

Yes. And thank you for submitting this thoughtful and loving post. You are absolutely correct.

If you or someone you know is thinking of suicide, immediately reach out for help with an evangelical church or first responder emergency services.

As has been already said suicide is not the answer.

If you are contemplating it or know someone who is, please seek help or encourage them to seek help.

I advice this for the enormous hurt to those left behind.

If you are the subject of this post, please talk to your parents, siblings, friends about what you are thinking, get there reaction.

Tell them the details of your problems.

They would rather you did not leave them. So seek there help.

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God. (James 1:19-20)

I know this for a truth: the Lord has regard for the afflicted. God will not turn His face away from such a one (Psalm 102:17). Who knows the mind of God unless it pleases Him to reveal this to us? Who speaks for the Lord, executing judgment upon that which they don't understand? The scriptures are indeed silent regarding suicide and as our precious brother @BeauJangles has shared of his testimony it's fitting that I do the same.

Was it suicidal when I stood between a stranger and the evil man who sought to take their life? Was I committing suicide, embracing the inevitability of my demise, when I surrendered myself to receive bullets for their sake? By my actions the stranger was permitted an avenue of escape so they might live and in spite of the folly which followed after me in this world, I rejoiced to find my purpose at last.

But it was not my appointed time.

I was a vagabond who wandered without a home and so this stranger who became a friend received me as their own, giving of themselves as I had given to them. When illness came and I started slipping away my friend refused to forsake me, standing by my side as I had stood by theirs. The agony of affliction became unbearable and when I decided to end this horrible suffering by my own hand, I barely looked human... yes, this was suicidal on my behalf.

But it was not my appointed time.

The Spirit of the Lord came and lifted me up, restoring everything I lost in greater measure than before. After Christ Jesus poured His Spirit upon me I served the will of our Father in heaven, becoming a son to this friend who had been forsaken by their own. When illness came and they started slipping away I refused to forsake them, standing by their side as they had stood by mine. The agony of their affliction was grievous to witness and I prayed night and day, for like me they contemplated suicide; the Lord, who hears my voice, blessed my friend with peace they had never known for all of their days in this world.

It was their appointed time and so my friend passed from this world to be with the Lord who loved them like His own. What they had done for my sake they did for His.

I'm assured of this: we pass from this world when our appointed comes, no matter how that comes.

No. It is most certainly not the answer for any problem. Even if it is a lifelong struggle, it is still not the solution. One who contemplates this to the point of making a decision has placed all their priorities on the problems and it escalates to blocking out everything else. It then becomes an obsession. That results in desperate measures to end it all. But, the problem is this below.

This would be it. Tremendous pain for those who love you. I've personally been hit with this for those I both loved and cared for countless times. My heart was broken beyond the ability to piece it back together again. I couldn't because it was shattered beyond capabilities for mending. I can see now though how they'd lost all hope because I too have been there. I've seen and lived the pain, the devastation, and overwhelming sorrow.

4 hours ago, Who me said:

Yes, I realize that now. The problem was that I had isolated myself and locked out communications. No one knew the degree of my struggles and exactly how it had been affecting my frazzled state of emotions. I also disconnected from trying to feel anymore, but that only worked temporally. It was at that point I began making plans. No notes, no attempts for good-byes. Nothing. Just leave. Permanently. I had more family and friends who had gone on to Heaven and I was longing for them. And that's why. But...

The Lord had other plans for me. Live! Live again and serve Him!

Suicide is the Devils solution.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
